Professional Transformation / Makeover experiences?

For quite some time now I have wrestled with the notion of having a professional transformation session. I'm wondering if there is anywhere that I can read reviews of other girls experiences. The good and bad. Since I have only transformed into Paula with one other person (my wife), I am very reluctant to do it with complete strangers. I't such a mixed bag of, well.... baggage, I'm not even sure why.

I'd love to read about others experiences, especially anyone in the San Francisco area.

If your avatar is you it looks to me like you really don't need a pro makeover. In fact you could give lessons to some of us less accomplished girls! Be that as it may, I know of no one website where you can read reviews of other girls' experiences with different artists. I think you'll have to do a web seach and read any customer testimonials there may be for each one. They are probably not totally unbiased but it is what it is. I will tell you that when I had my first, and so far only, pro makeover with Phoebe Cross she put me right at ease and I think you'll find that anyone who is in that business is very sensitive to your feelings and will do the same. Phoebe is in the Atlanta area, probably a little far to go for you unless you travel there on business.

Hi Paula,

I personally have not tried or experienced a make over in San Francisco . But have here at home. You can get alot of benefit from just going to a MAC store or counter, get a makeover for alot less than what a transformation service would charge. All you have to do purchase some of their products.
But if that isn't your cup of tea. Try Adam to Eve or Carla's. I've seen results from both and there really good. I believe Adam to Eve is in S.F. and I think Carla's is in the South Bay. You probably google them and have a look at their web sites. Hope this helps.

Surely you would be comfortable with another CD doing the makeover wouldn't you? Although I live in Wahsington State and run a transformation studio there, my daughter lives in San Francisco and I go to visit her and my new granddaughter fairly frequently.

The next time I travel down I will bring my MAC bag and see if we can get together.

There actually are a number of transformation sites in San Francisco and a makeup artist named Herman that is outstanding.

I would go to one for the education and the chance to see what you look like from someone working on you. It is a lot of fun.

I have had a couple makeovers in Portland, Oregon, by a private lady that does them for several of us ladies. Christina is a very lovely lady, to say the least. Both times I was able to arrive and have her do her magic trick. I would take my change of clothes and exit Franki Kate. What a marvelous feeling and experience. One time I left and went onto shopping at the Lloyd center. I got a couple whistles walking from outdoot parking site to the center. While at M & F (now Macey's) I purchased a marvelous looking jacket for Franki and was treated with the utmost respect by the middleasged sales lady. What an evening. I then walked about for a while and exited a different department story. The evening was early and I dicided to visit a favorite site for ladies as ourselves, call Hobo's. While walking to my destination, I enountered a young lady that suggested I should have an escort, for safety's sake. She and I walked about three blocks to Hobo's and she said. "Have a great evening." I surely did that.

Paula,

I've gone to three different transformation salons over the past several years and enjoyed each one. In each case the makeup artist was courteous and kind and I learned a trick or two each time. My makeup skills remain limited but they are better today than they were. I encourage you to find one in the Bay area and give it a try.

Wow Paula, your picture is stunning! I've never been to a transformation salon myself, just a lot of trial and error before I "got it" but friends of mine swear by MAC, their outlets in San Francisco are very TG friendly, or if you want a total consultation/makeover, you might try Carla's in San Jose, she's totally cool.
