Halloween a great start at coming out

If you have never gone out in public dressed and you really want to (You know you do) then Halloween is the perfect time to do it. You will get the chance to see how people react to you, and you will find people more accepting than you ever thought possible. Even going to bars and restraunts is a great time on Halloween. It will also give you a chance find out if you really want to come out (and I bet you do), it will also give you confidense to come out.

You maybe scared at first, I was really shaking, I mean my legs were shaking and I was trembling all over, but after I went and found out how much fun it was you will start to relax. The best thing to do is find someone to go out with if you don't have someone that is. Go to a party, or to a bar for a contest (you don't have to enter) any bar, just be careful of advances, they can and may very well happen, just be ready to ignore them, you will also find out how to laugh with others, don't worry if they are laughing at you although this may hurt if you are really trying to pass, but you have to learn to take it. You will always find some young girls or boys that are so insecure that they will look for anything wrong with someone else. Then they use it for their enjoyment. If they laugh just laugh along, it's better than making a big fuse about it. Never try to defend yourself verbaly, it can only make things worse, just walk away and smile.

Just go out and have fun!!!

    Hi Amy

Halloween can be a great opportunity. If you do not want friends or neighbours to know about your crossdressing, you have to be careful how you present yourself, or how often, if they may be seeing you on more than one Halloween, or else they might start connecting the dots. The first time, however, it can be a great opportunity to assess their reactions.

The first time anyone other than my wife saw me dressed was at Halloween when I dressed at home, but answered the door to give out the treats. Late in the evening, several teens came to the door. They were all boys except for one girl. The boys all hooted and laughed and asked "are they real". I said something along the lines of "Yea sure". The girl just looked at me and after the laughter had died down said "You should have shaved your legs". Oops, I have never made that mistake again.

I'm going to use this HW for that exact opportunity. I'll be going out to a party with a friend of mine who doesn't know. Well see how it goes eh?

Great response! Maybe this year, Sarah Palin's trademark "You betcha" would be the only answer I'd be tempted to use instead.

If any of you have Halloween costume contests where you work, as some companies do, that would also be a chance to get an idea of how your friends and co-workers react. Great thing this year is it's on a Friday, so you could go all out with nails, make-up, etc., and kick off a whole weekend of being en femme. I'm tempted to go in a dark pinstripe skirt suit, black hose & very high heels that were commonplace in a lot of offices in the 70s and 80s; only trouble is, everybody'd know there's no way that's the first time I've walked in them!

We are having a Halloween party and I'll be a cute, sexy witch, not an ugly, silly one. I'm going to be coming out to a few of the SO's friends and her daughters girlfriend. I'm looking forward to it!
    Hugs and kisses,

In my early years of dressing, it was also a great excuse for shopping for clothing and such. I figured if anyone asked (they usually didn't) I could say it was for a costume. This gave me a good month or so to build up my wardrobe. Funny... most of my stuff was fall and winter clothing, not much summer.

As for going out... I remember going out to dinner with some friends in full DRAG. I heard a little girl at the table across from us ask her parents "Why is that man dressed as a girl?", and they told her "Well, it is Halloween...". DOH! read by a little girl, and I thought I was passing.
