I bought stockings once at the supermarket but that was too much for me. I was a bundle of nerves.
These days I find it so much comforting to shop online and remain anonymous.
Going out to shop is sooo much fun, you just can't get that kind of thrill sitting at home. This is especially true since I've recently started using the stores fitting rooms to try the clothes on first.
I do occasionally purchase certain items such as large size shoes and breastforms on line, however.

Thanks, can you place a vote on the poll I have created if you have not already.

The fact that the clothes have previously been owned/worn by a GG adds to the excitement.
I shop in big stores... It's cheaper, and if what I buy is too small (or rarely... too big)... I can get an exchange the same day Call me a skinflint, but I like ASDA prices, and the clothes aren't too bad either.

Jayme.
I shop mostly in thrift shops except for stockings, pantyhose, etc. then larger stores like walmart, target, etc.
Mmmm, some interesting other options...
And a late rally from the online shoppers!
See the catalogues are not popular, is this because of those high prices, I wonder?

I don't touch catalogues... the deliverys are unreliable and so often wrong size or colour, and yes, higher prices too... But mainly.... I cant stand waiting !! My local big store is open 24 hours... any time the mood for shopping takes me !!Originally Posted by sarah8553

Same here Jayme,
I feel there is really nothing to go for the Catalogue shopping option here...
Not with eBay and stuff!
Anyone think any different?

I'm quite relaxed buying any femme clothing and accessories in the large department stores.
I can sometimes be a little nervous in small specialist womens stores, but I still look through the selections anyway.
I will never buy through the catalogues or online. I need to see, feel, check actual size/fitting etc...

Love And Devotion To My Online Family
I'm outa the closet, but still inda house!
Everywhere! I mostly look for bargans but I have shopped at all the major department stores in my area. I have ordered many things off Ebay. I have got many of my favorte things from the local Goodwill.
The only place I have not shopped would be any of the "crossdresser" stores online or brick and morter.
I use all of the above, but there is nothing better than going into a shop, seeing something that you fall in love with, buying it, taking it straight home and putting it on.
Mona xx.
This is close...
It is really looking like people are split between seeing/trying clothes first hand before buying in large stores, and the low prices you can get online!
Thanks for all your feedback.

High Street? There's no High Street..., oh, wait..., I'm on the wrong continent!

I did, to start with buy stuff from the internet, and don't get me wrong, i still will for shoes and boots etc, that you just can't buy in shops, but for me, as i have recently found out is browsing around the shops, nothing beats seeing and feeling the clothes and coming home with them.
I get even more excited on the drive home thinking about what i have just bought and can't wait to put them on!
If you have'nt tried buying from shops, try it! you get a real adrenalin high!
Luv Dee.
I love to shop in bigger department stores as the selection is far greater. Yes gotta agree with other girls here the rush you get taking them home and waithing to try the clothes on, you can't beat.
I don't really like shopping online cos you can't see and feel what your buying, i feel it's one of the best parts of crossdressing.
Like several of the other girls here most of my cloths come from Thrift shops. My undergarments however are from online.
I would vote, but I've never heard of the stores in the poll so I'll list my favorite places here:

Its just a bit of a bitch to get there for a weekend of shopping.
And of course Harrods if we could afford it.
Oh, and every thrift store between here and the End of the Galaxy.

I'm tall and weigh about 200 lbs and I can get sizes I need from catalogs easier than shopping in stores and other places.

High Street.
I like to see thing before I spend my money.
I've bought a few stuff on line but I'm very impatient, when I buy something I want it NOW!
Well I prefer my wife closet. But we don't wear the same size clothes most of the time... Walmart is my common place and or I hit the Mall and whom has what I'm looking for is where I go. I am very picky in clothing so I have to be willing to go out and look.
