I think that your situation seems to have improved even though it has been unexpected. I am making the slow conversion though I don't really have a definite plan. My wife has not said anything yet, but I think that she will sometime soon (just my intuition working).

I've had the same thing happen. While my wife is supportive there are still things that can get under her skin. I started trimming and coloring and it became accepted. Now I have to keep it up or she complains big time!

Karren, I learned a long time ago, that wives and mothers see everything all the time. They really do have eyes in the back of their heads. On every occassion that I told either of them anything, they would reply that they already knew. Now I'm either not very clever or they had super powers. OBTW, my wife has yet to comment of my almost non-existent eyebrows so I'll just keep them real thin to avoid any discomfort for her. Go figure.

She might not admit it, but she's accepting you to a degree; a degree that's within her growing comfort zone.
Let her know what your favorite brand/make of XYZ expendable femme thing (pantyhose, mascara, lipsticks, etc.) are. You might be surprised what she buys next.

Your wife stands something to lose obviously if she left you. Otherwise, she would have left when she found out you crossdress. Know that that something is could help stabilize your understanding of each other.
Funny you should mention that, Julie.. I always wondered why she didn't leave... Love must have a lot to do with it but I also think that the stark reality that in today's economy that a good income is not something you walk away from.. And half of a good income is hard to live on... Plus no one can say I don't work hard around the house.. Still I don't think that I'm going to ask for a new dress for Christmas.. Maybe a new hockey stick!!
I'm happy for you Karren. These are very positive things in your life, but I don't want you to get all giddy and soft now. We still need your insight when we say something silly.
My wife accepts my dressing and has adopted a Laissez-faire attitude about how I look most of the time. She knows I'll clean up soon enough and is just counting on me not having polish on my nails when company comes over.

I find that I wear my nails on the long side. At first she didn't like it (my nails looked better than hers). But now she is accustomed to it. The other day I broke one of the nails such that I had to trim it way back, she noticed inquiring as to what had happened.
