    How Much is Too Much?

OK, I could really easy buy these very cute dress sandals by Carlos Santana. They would be the PERFECT and final touch to an outfit I have put together. The thing is, they are $89 (US) (includes shipping).

There is a thrifty side of me, but it usually takes a back seat when it comes to quality.

Just curious, what is the most $$$ you have spent on a pair of shoes?

Here is what I'm considering (in white): http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?p=5...riant_id=82260

    Should I get them???

i love shoes. i;ve expressed my love for shoes many times on here.....but when thinking clearly(which is tough when shopping for anything) and easy way to look at it is...can i afford it? how much will i wear them? also if you do buy them you might compensate the sale to something else...meaning if you buy the shoes then you won't buy something else of equal value. It makes it much easier to justify the purchase to yourself.

off topic. what island do you live on in Hawaii?

    Compen-what???

Tara, dear. Great advice. I've decided to get them (w/encouragement from my lovely sister Dana J), and a second pair of equal and greater value!

So what is the most you have spent on a pair of shoes?

    BTW, O'ahu, Waikiki!

I reckon the most I've spent is the recent purchase of some women's black Easy Spirit tennis shoes. $50 + tax. But I can wear them every day.

For heels or sandles, less than $30, even bought 3 pair for a total of $32.

I won't spend a lot on shoes I don't get to wear very often.

Susandrea, Nice find! I saw those earlier and checked them out. Yes, they would also work. But {sob, sniff} they don't come in my size.

Donna, you're getting to me, making me feel bad when I want to treat myself to something nice. OK, ok, I'll shop around sommore... In hind sight, maybe this is why my shoe collection is nothing but Goodwill.

    There's a problem?

Don't hesitate. I buy shoes just to keep some other woman from having them.

I draw the line around 39 dollars. I watch for sales. J.C.Penneys has shoes on sale all the time, and you can order online, and return. Zappos, and Payless have decent shoes fairly inexpensive too.

Well, they are cute, but are they $90.00 cute? As for me, I'd think not. Not for that kind of jack. I'm just not a "Nordstrom's" kind of girl, I guess. Champaigne taste on a beer budget.

Any money found in the laundry is MINE!
