This is the essence of privilege. When others who have been held back now have the same rights and opportunities it seems like a loss for the ones who were previously on top of the heap. Now, in some sense, it is a loss for them, but what this statement implies is that it's a bad thing (for men) when women are equal because men now only have 50% of the pie instead of 90%.
