I go to lots of ComicCons and I see plenty of people crossdressing as anime characters.

You should go for it. Judging by your profile pic, you would look good.

I would do it myself, but I'm a little too old to pull it off (Aside from MIAD-style parody) I wish I knew about cosplay fifteen years ago :P

I'm kind of like Queen Bridget I'm too old for cosplay but it does sound fun.

I would love to crossplay as Yoruichi from Bleach. She is one of my favorite characters from that anime period. :

There are many ebay vendors who make custom sized costumes and outfits of all sorts. I'm particularly fond of the sailor moon cute outfits, with all the different sailor (fill in the planet) varieties of color. Then of course, the gothic lolita frilly lacy dresses too (I have a few). The prices have gone up now that we're in the tariff wars, though. There are a few folks that make them in the U.K., Canada and U.S. also, but of course, cost more.

There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

nice it would be amazing to go to comic con at least once in my life. that’s cool cross play is a thing. i’ve never seen bleach Eboni Robinson. or sailor moon Sometimes Miss. but i would love frilly lacey dress style for sure. i love the color variety for the sailor outfits .

You should definitely go for it Courtney. We love anime and manga at our house. My SO actually lived in Japan for a few years and she knows all of the good stuff. Now my son is hooked. I don't have one yet but the pink cosplay wig is on the shopping list!

Also there is a lot of crossdressing in both anime and manga and Japanese culture is becoming fairly accepting of it.

Sort of. I do lots of fem costumes. But, have never been interested in presenting as a cartoon character.

I did a ComicCon event not long ago.

nice Felicia! to be able to share with the whole family anime and manga i first got into anime after a friend showed me Dragon Ball Z on Toonami/cartoon network in 2000. i was in after that. i would visit Japan in a second if i ever had the chance especially Akihabara. Docrobbysherry amazing costumes there! girls looking good. looks like a bit of work to get into costume but well worth it.

    Hi Courtney!

I just went to Flamecon in New York City and it was fantastic. I had always wanted to cosplay as Wonder Woman or Batgirl, but was afraid of one thing more than any other - where to go to the bathroom
This event solved that problem, because all the bathrooms are gender neutral.
I would say go for it, especially if you have friends with you, it's a great experience.

I know a few Trans girls into that stuff and if you want to you should go for it.
Not into it myself but where can you find a butterball turkey outfit anyway?

After reading replies here I am tempted to try a costume at a comicon or other themed event.

    Looks like fun.
