I’ve got a fairly obvious tattoo on my forearm of a rose and stars, now when I’m dressed I’m either showing it off or I’m trying to cover it to a degree.. anyone else get this?

i am what I am, I do what I do..
i do not seek approval from others.
I sadly have tattoos that do not fit well with a female presentation. Long sleeves forever.

Why did you get it in the first place?
When getting a tattoo you have to look to the future to see what liabilities there may be.
Work on your elegance,
and beauty will follow.
Never have and never will!
One thing I've never felt a need for is a tattoo, it's because when you age the girl you put on your biceps her boobies sag just like the real ones on older GGs.
I have thought about it, but never pulled the trigger.
Small tat on my upper arm, I put it there so a t shirt would cover it, two years latter everyone was wearing tank tops. Now I stay with at least a cap sleeve, never sleeveless. Which limits a lot of summer styles. As to why, it was a sailor thing, and I was young and hadn't dressed in a few years, so I was "cured" and it wasn't going to be a problem anymore.
Magic is the art of changing consciousness at will.
Not a drop of ink on this body. I have to say that I have never seen the draw of tattoos.
Honestly it makes me sad to see an otherwise attractive person covered tattoos. I just can't imagine why someone would do that.

Sorry, but while I appreciate the artistry ... ink if for paper.
I don't wear women's clothes, I wear MY clothes !

Pretty much how I feel about it.
I know its a personal thing and I get that and yes you can do whatever you want to your body.
When I see an attractive guy or girl covered in ink I have to think why do they want to look like they have done time in the prison system?
I know guys in my past that had 100s of tattoos but they were very bad people and should have been in prison.
I was always called Mr Clean because while being a part of that 1% club I didn't have any tattoos.
Tattoos are super common these days and people will always want to be like everyone else.
I love tattoos on people whatever type and size and amount of body coverage. I love diversity and we are part of that. Some males or females wearing the other gender's clothing or some born in the wrong body, short, tall, heavy, skinny passable/blendable or not. We are all adults and to get a tattoo one must be at least 18, in California. We make decisions everyday, usually accepting most of them and wondering why on the rest. Just like some of you fine ladies wishing that they would have come out sooner, gone out sooner or started sooner (mine).
I have two tattoos that I got in the last 3 years. Both are smallish and in areas to be seen and shared with others, and both have dear reasons why they are important to me. If your decision is to not have any, that is more than OK with me. However, please do not denigrate someone else's decision to do so.
One of the great benefits from dressing for me is that I get to show off my ink. Most of my guy clothes cover them up. I couldn’t imagine wanting to cover them up unless you’re worried about someone clocking you by them.
I see tattoos as a form of self-mutilation.
Thanks for your opinion Charona, but I don’t believe that is what the post was asking.
I don't have a tattoo but I do have marks on my wrist that I am ashamed of and try to keep them covered. If the weather is cool I can wear gloves. I also made these bands that cover the wrist sort of like sweat bands but more attractive. Long sleeves don't cover them very good. I also have the same marks on my legs but I can hide them better. Similar to a tattoo a life choice I regret.
I would like a tattoo of Hello Kitty but kinda timid getting it done.

I like tattoos usually But that does not mean I have one. I know they probably hurt to get and I don't know what the future holds. what I don't understand is why people get themin places they can't see, like the small of their back. If I had one I would want to be able to admire it with out having to look in a mirror. Although I have been known to admire my self in a mirror LOL
To each thier own but know that you will take it to the grave

Sallee,
I think that those hidden tattoos are also special for the person. Maybe they want their current or future boyfriend/husband to see it and hopefully also like it too. Maybe it is their way to have a different and somewhat personal way (to themselves) to surprise or share with someone that they may be personal with. My second tattoo is the single line outline of the back of a cat and it located on the outer back side of my leg/foot. I have to turn and twist to see it, but I know it is always there and means something to me. If someone else likes it and compliments me on it as many have already done it also makes me fee good too like a sort of validation that you do not need but is nice to get once in awhile.
Like the majority of posters in this thread, I don't have any tattoos. Never will, either. I really think that many who get them will regret it sooner or later. Maybe I need to invest in the tattoo removal industry......I think they are going to be huge in a year or so....
"Taking the time to be in touch with my feminine side"
Rachael, thanks for your post. I have tattoos...and they are important to me and that is all that matters. They are a part of who I am just as dressing is a part of who I am. I wear clothes that I enjoy regardless of gender same as tattoos do not have gender...we don't all have to wear pink...do we? I just feel that tattoos are a very personal decision and not taken lightly. If you like yours then enjoy them. Cheers.

“Tattoos are a fad” always cracks me up. It’s a fad that’s been around in the western world since the ancient Greeks, and has been steadily becoming more and more popular for the last 100+ years, but yeah it’s totally going to disappear in a couple years.
Don't have any have considered it but don't have anything I want to pay someone to draw on me forever. I don't understand the objections to them either. If you don't want it don't but also don't have a problem with those who do, kind of hypocritical from this group.
Tattoos are not for me, ever, though if you like them who am I to argue. My sons girlfriend has many on her arms and it is not a good look.
Here today, gone tomorrow....
Hi Rachel , I think that Tattoos only look great on other peoples bodies .>>>>>Orchid..++..
Having my ears triple pierced is AWESOME, ~~......
I can explain it to you, But I can't comprehend it for you !

I have a tat, I think about why I got it. So I wear long sleeves a lot.. plus the long sleeve keeps the sun off my skin too. I hear that's not good either.
