X-mas wasn't that great this year

    I hope everyone a good x-mas.

Mine wasn't good. Ten days before X-mas I stuffer a stroke. Spent 5 days in ICU. Now when I went in I was under dressing. They didn't what I was wearing only to get me better. Now my wife was upset but she took my things home but would not wash them or bring back any female clothing (watch was ok with me). Now she had to find things I wear panties all the time so she found Jockey ones in my drawer she also open other drawers and saw almost everything I have. so I won't be posting much till I get better.

Glenda, I am sorry to hear about you having a stroke, any underdressing who really should care. All the medical professionals have seen it already. I know my wife would also be upset with what I was wearing but she would get over it.
I do hope you recover soon and have a healthy 2019.

    Hi Glenda,

Sorry to hear that. It is a lot of work to keep your muscle tone while recovering from a stroke.
Please do all the rehab exercises assigned by your therapists.
And several times a day, if at all possible. Good luck with your recovery!

    Glenda,

Firstly may I wish you a speedy recovery.

My Mother-in-law suffered a stroke late one evening but didn't receive any medical attention until the next morning (she didn't want to bother us that late at night). Hence that golden hour to really and quickly address the condition was lost.

She all but lost her speech as well as the use of one arm and had great difficulty walking but as Marion rightly points out, she worked hard at the physiotherapy and within a matter of weeks could climb the stairs, had regained 70% of the use in her arm. The family joke was however that we were all so disappointed that she got her speech back ( that woman can talk for England, never shuts up!). It was only a matter of weeks before she was back home living independently at the age of 80.

So, work hard at the physio, do what the medical profressional tell you to do and things will get better.

    Glenda,
So sorry for your illness and problems it caused . I'm sure many may be in a similar situation if it happened to them .

I must admit it does raise an interesting question for me and I'm sure others living alone , if I fell ill who would the caring fall on ? I did think about asking my neighbour to be a key holder and give him contact phone numbers should an emercency arise . So I could be in a worse situation asking a neighbour to find some clean fresh clothes for me .

Maybe as a safeguard we should have an emergency bag packed so at least they didn't have to go searching through the undies drawer and wardrobe .

I hope you are on the mend now and it all gets sorted , best of luck .

    Hi Glenda,

I guess right now the #1 concern is getting better. Don’t let the clothes affect your recovery and when you get back on your feet you can tackle that issue
