What an incredible week it has been. I almost don't know where to start. Spoiler - this one is going to be a long post.
It started last week as I was traveling for work and went clubbing 3 nights in two different cities in Florida. That in itself was a record for me, but it continues. My wife is out of town for a while, and I got to dress up and go out both Saturday and Sunday night to a local club. What a blast Saturday night was in particular. Since that was the highlight of the week, I figured I would post the details of that one outing, but all were fun - 5 outings in 8 days, wow.
I got there late as I was messing around with my eyebrows for a long time. I was trying the glue stick trick that some drag artists use. It is pretty effective but really hard to get right without practice if you ask me. The shape of the brow was great, but I still had some grainyness below the drawn brow which I did not like. Practice I suppose.
So anyhow, I got there maybe 11 PM. There was a nice size crowd, and I did not go to the drag show. I just went to the largest bar of the 3 in the club. It was not long before a bachelorette party turned loose, and young women flooded the place. After I had one beer, I got up from the bar to walk around. I have learned a lot in the last few years about social interaction in bars, and when I want to meet people, this works well for me. I just walk around the bar slowly. If anyone close by is making eye contact, I typically make a little wave and smile. If they respond, I will attempt to interact with them, If not I just keep moving. One interesting thing I noticed. If I stop to chat with someone, that is when others typically approach me to say they like something about what I am wearing or whatever. It seems they detect you are friendly and approachable, and that first interaction seems to draw others in - an Interesting notion.
Sorry I did not take any pictures this time. I just wanted to get out there. I thought I looked pretty sharp though. I had on my JM Collection black keyhole blouse that I had worn in another club last week. I had on a very short black faux leather skirt, sheer toeless Hanes pantyhose and my Jessica Simpson gold glitter peep toe heels - 3.5 inch.
I was only halfway around the bar when a cute woman walks directly at me and tells me my legs looked wonderful, and we chatted for a good while. It turned out to be her 40th birthday but she looks fantastic for that age. I would have guessed she was maybe 28. She kept going on about my legs, but I did not tell her about my cheats. When I want them to look really top notch. I will put on some Sally Hansen leg makeup - the one in the spray can, not the liquid. It makes the skin look really nice but has a matte finish so after it sets, I will put on a thin coat of lotion which provides a natural sheen. Top that off with very sheer hose and they look perfect. That is just one of my many cheats to look my absolute best. I enjoyed talking with her but she wanted to get back to her friends, so I stopped to grab another beer at the bar and met another woman waiting to pick up her drink. She was wearing over the top glitter eye markup and short blond hair. We talked briefly and she asked to come join her and her husband to talk. He was stilling at the bar and she was dancing to the music right in front of him. He started joking about how good my heels looked on me and that he wished his wife would wear some like that, haha. She said she can not wear heels that high (only 3.5 in), so I thought it funny that I can wear shoes that some women can not. Ha.
Then some guy called my real name, and I thought crap. Then I figured out who he is. He is a local gay community activist, who I had met there a few years ago. I just did not recognize him at first because he now has a mustache. Way back whenever I met him, we had discussed my dressing and transgender issues, etc. So he was happy to see I had returned, and we talked for a while. He introduced me to a few of his friends. Side note: For those who had never ventured out into gay bars, don't assume a gay guy is interested in you because he wants to talk. Some people are just friendly and social. As I have spent a lot of time in these places the last few years, I can say I have lost all stereotyping because of people like him. He is just a really nice social guy who happens to be gay. Sorry - public service note : )
I had some brief interactions with a number of others, but this one really takes the cake. A very nice looking woman about a foot shorter than me says something. I had to bend over and have her repeat it like 3 times. I was thinking she was drunk and had slurred speech. That was not the case. She is French and has a thick accent. We really hit it off, so I showed her some of my pictures. She was saying things like, Oh I love, love, love, those shoes, etc. She ended up dragging me up to dance with her and her friends, and dance we did - to the point I started sweating and had to sit down to cool off a bit. She just could not let me go. She wanted my phone number, but I said I am sorry but I do not thing my wife would like that, haha. This is a real party girl. She is living in the US as she has immigrated here, but lives 1000 miles away. She was simply visiting a friend. I got a LOT of hugs from this woman. I did not think she was drunk until later when she starts telling me she loves me, haha. By then I figured she had a couple too many. We had one last dance, and it was really cool with the bright strobe lights flashing on us as she insisted I jump up on the square dancing platform with her. The platform is maybe 2 feet high in front of mirrors - so cool. She told me to do her dance moves and I copied her. She was putting her hands on her hips and waist so I did whatever she did. Gosh it was fun.
By 2:30 am the crowds were thinning out so I decided to order my ride home. It was really a great night of interaction. I wish I had gotten a picture of her just as a memento as we will likely never see each other again. Such is the life of one night interactions at clubs.
Sorry it was so long. I just had to relive it in my head. Sunday, I went to the mall en femme to buy some more makeup at Dillard's. That was a story in itself, but lets just say I found me a makeup artist , yea! What a hoot. Get out there people, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Next outing, this Friday!!!
