I'm thinking of getting a pair of boots but I'm not sure about what the right size would be. I normally wear a size 11 in my regular shoes and boots would it be the same size in a womans boot?

No they are not the same size. Not even close. You can look on the web for shoe conversion charts. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5 (US) which is a 12 in ladies. Please before you buy find a chart. Some will give you international sizes as well I know UK sizes are different then US. I hope that this helps.

As far as I know, women and mens' sizes are the same in the UK. Makes life a lot easier.
Don't forget that lots of women's shoes are much narrower than men's, normally to compensate you'd by anything from 1 to 2 sizes bigger to compensate.
That said if you're buying in a CD/TG store more often than not the width issue is already taken into account.

No. You will need at least a 12 I would think..and possibly even a 12 1/2 or 13 depending on the boot. You'll definitely need to try them on first before buying if you are not sure about your size.Originally Posted by Dinah_Power

I wear a 9E. I found that if you go up 2 shoe sizes that is about right, since women have narrower feet. It also depends on the manufacturer, because shoes are made in different parts of the world and they have different standards. I have got stuck a few times. Guess I don't have the nerve some of you other girls have got.
Hey girls, I could use some help, too. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of low heels or flats in a size 14? It's not too hard finding high heels, but finding something more for everyday casual has been the pits! I'm over six feet. Putting on 4" or 5" heels attracts alot of attention (okay, sometimes I like that). I would be nice (not to mention comfortable) to have a few pair of something more conservative.

Holly,
Here are a few links I've found. I haven't shopped from any of them, so you are on your own there!

http://allheelsformen.com/ - I was a bit surprised, but they do have a few casual flats
There's another link: Statuesque Shoes?? It locked my browser up like three times, so I'm not going back out to it again!
Good Luck!

Go two sizes bigger so go a 13, boots similar to the ones im wearing right now, they tend to run small. 2 sizes is best.

I am size 12 or 12.5 in mens shoes. I can wear 12W to 13 womens. Payless shoes normally has a good supply of large shoes.
I bought the same size I normally wear in heels, woman's 8.5 US
The do fit, but getting my heel in was hard at first. Luckily? they have the zipper running up the back instead of on the side.

I wear a size 8 1/2 - 9 in mens and have a pair of 9 1/2 boots with a 2 1/2 inch heel that I got from Payless that fit like heaven. In heels I usually have no problems with a 9 and sometimes even a 8 1/2 (depending on the manufacturer and the width). I found a wonderful pair of black patent 3 inch heel pumps at Target the other day that are an 8 1/2 and they fit great---it all depends on where you get them. The day I got the pumps I was wearing tights underneath my jeans and casually slipped my shoe off (I had untied it earler) and slipped on the shoe to check the fit. No one saw except for maybe the security cameras but what can they really do???
