I've been trying to find a therapist that deals with TG issues for a while. It's really difficult to actually know which ones are TG friendly or which ones are going to try to "cure" me. Last one I went to suggested me to never take hormones and just CD for the rest of my life; and she said that in the first meeting! I feel like it's with playing dice, or worse, Russian roulette. Can anyone from NJ recommend a therapist or somewhere to get help?

I found one on line at www.gendertherapist.com. I have contacted him about therapy, but have not yet signed up with him as yet. He deals with TG's alot. What he will recommend only he can tell you as will any therapist you try.
Good luck in your quest.

I have never heard of an experienced therapist working with gender-variant adults advocating aversion therapy, or a "cure". A small number do this with children, but even that is very controversial. I guess anything is possible. Any therapist who comes to a conclusion after one visit probably has an agenda, and I would get out of there. I think you just got unlucky, as the majority of experienced gender-variant educated therapists would never tell you what this one told you. Try this:

Good luck!

Thank you so much! I found a therapist that looks very promising. From that site I followed a link, and another and I found a therapist two towns away from my home.
In any case this is the link to her website (NJ girls might find this useful)
