Hi all.

I am in London this weekend, and I wish to take the opportunity to visit the Wayout Club, I have to admit I will be a fish out of water there, and wonder if any of you who may have visited have any comments.

I do go out dressed shopping etc and keep pushing the envelope as those who have followed my posts in the past will know, but this is a big leap even more so I will be alone.

If everything goes according to plan, I should have a strappy LBD purchased just for the vist.

To give you an example of my normal nightlife, the club opens just when I am thinking of going to bed.

Sophie.

Sophie, you will be fine in London. Make sure you try to see La Cages Aux Folles which you will love. There's a TV friendly restaurant which I will try and dig out for you. The trouble with London is that everything is spread out too much. My London trip is only just hitting my blog (time) but I can give you more details if you message me. I would say though, get dressed up and enjoy yourself because London is tolerent of people like us.

Hugs

Sorry, you are right, I should have put more info.

Thanks Senban for the link.

Thursday night UK time will be my last opportunity to check responses here before I leave.

Glad to see your taking notes :)

Hotel I was thinking of is the Philbeach:

They are supposed to do some good food in there and cater for our kind. Though I spent three days in London dressed, on the tube, on the bus, anywhere really and didn't have any problems at all.

Just enjoy it

Thank you their website - I looked at both their website and the site for the hotel

That was my problem back when I crusied the drag/gay bars, they didn't get lively until about midnight and I had to be at work at 8am. Made for some long days.......

Have fun at the wayout. I know there are some beautiful girls there....

I have been Sophie, i went with my wife, you will feel perfectly at home there, i stayed in the Novotel which is around the corner and walked there and back, you will have a great night and everyone will make you welcome, remember it's called the way out club so anything goes !!! try not to get there too early, i would say 11 earliest but if you do, take plenty of money with you for drinks etc or you may run out, have a great night out x

Great, thanks.

I am switching off now, and will check in next week.

My LBD plan for my visit has not worked out, but I do have a black dress with shirt insert, I may wear this with boots, the dress is a bit short though, not really my style, but looks great on.

Bye for now.

I have just remebered the dress in my avitar, it is the same length.

Sophie.

Eeek - the Philbeach was closed and sold the year before last, after one of the owners sadly died..

For future reference, the Princess Thai Restaurant has relocated to Earls Court Rd (a few minutes walk away) and is still going strong, along with Jimmy and his bar. (310c Earls Court Rd, SW5 9BA - pm me if you want the phone no.) Good food, good prices and always a friendly welcome.. :)

The WayOut is definitely worth a visit, even if just to watch the clientele and the entertainment. But, do talk to people - you'll find many there in the same position as you? And do say hello to Vicky Lee who runs the place - that girl is a legend. :)

Thanks a bunch for the comments.

I did get to the club and will post the story in the out and about section, and then drop the link in here to let you know I have posted.

I would thoroughly recommend to anyone to visit.

Did I enjoy myself there, well not really, to be honest I think I prefer quieter pursuits. I was on my own and felt like a "fish out of water", but that is more a personality issue with me. I will fill you in, in the out and about.

The whole weekend was fantastic really with highs and lows.

If in the area though I would definitely fit in another visit but would prefer to meet up with someone rather than go totally alone.

IME it's not ever where you go - it's who you go with, or meet when you are there?

But many of us don't find socialising easy - it takes effort and practice? :)

Thanks Niki.

And for all who are interested here is the out and about post.

It is in parts though, way to much to fit in one evenings post.
