It was at the local supermarket. I was waiting in line at the cashier.
Ahead of me in line were a mother and her little girl, around three years of age.
The little girl looked at me (dressed in ordinary men's clothes) and said loudly, "Mom. That man has pretty nails."

hahaha I had something similar when I was at the laundromat this summer.
I was wearing some high heel sandals and some younger girl was like "Mom that guy is wearing girl shoes!"

Was at a gas station pumping gas and wearing girls jeans and high heeled sandals. The girl pumping next to me leaned over and said cute shoes. I blushed and said thank you then noticed that she was wearing the same pair. She said don't be embarassed, at least your nails are polished.
She went on to say that she hates when GG's wear open toed shoes without painted toenails. I said I never leave the house without my being painted.
That is one best parts of being dressed, being able compliment other girls on their clothes and shoes without looking wierd.
Always in heels,
Jessica

I got a wonderful response from a little girl last halloween while handing out candy while dressed as a wench. Her mom smiled and said very nice. Giggles Keli

I'm dating myself here:doh:, but a fella named Art Linkletter once wrote a very popular book with a title appropriate to the subject; Kids Say the Darndest Things. Indeed they do!

Kids are looking for acknowledgement. Unless you want them to keep loudly repeating what they see, your best action is to respond confidently to them...with something like, 'thank you...and you have nice boots'. The kid learns that it is no big deal and you change the subject.

About two years ago, my son told his teacher (and the class) "my dad wears a tutu", which simply wasn't true.
Unfortunately I did not find out about this until a charity fundraising event where I was asked to dress-up and a female character from a TV show. Nevertheless, one of the teachers (quite a fun and sexy woman) commented " I knew there was something odd about you" with a wry smile on her face.
My daughter has told the same teachers that she paints my toe nails and that mum waxes my back and chest. ETA...and that I don't have hairy legs anymore as mum waxes them too.
I guess I'm 'out', but unconfirmed, to a bunch of teachers.
