View Full Version : Why doesn't male underwear "work"?

Once when my wife demanded I see a therapist about my crossdressing the female therapist suggested I try sexy male underwear as a substitute for the things I loved. Well, I tried nylon briefs, silk boxers, bikini types, etc. Although some felt nice there was no thrill; it just had to be real panties, etc made for women. Besides, I really like lace. Has anyone else tried this substitution? Did it work at all?

Men's underware is made defective, all my pairs all ready had holes in the front!

The answer is simple: That's not what cross dressers do, they need the real stuff, just like any other addict. Every tried to give soda instead of alcohol to an alcoholic? I doubt they'll like that at all, just like cross dressers would like "cross dressing" in stuff made for their own sex.

It's more an identity issue than a clothing one! If the clothes are made for men even if the are panties made for men have no desire to own them. I identify as female and women's clothes affirm my Identity! Does your therapist specialize in gender issues?

Cause' you associate panties with femininity! Men's underwear are NOT associated with femininity and therefore do not please your femme inner-self.

It's either that, or you got a great big fetish for lacy things! Either way, your stuck with it!

Kelsey, no, she was not a gender specialist, but was quite sympathetic. Far more than my wife.

Nothing beats the feel and the emotional lift wearing a sexy pair of female panties. I've tried the sexy male ones and the fit is not the same.

As a side light. I once had a girlfriend that loved me to wear boxers, which I hated. However she kept buying them for me and I was obligated to wear them around her. I would love to see her reaction to what I wear now. All I own are sexy female panties, except for one male pair for the doctors officer.

The answer to this is too simple - if we were to wear silkie mens shorts, then

we would not be CROSSDRESSERS - duh !

Well, you have her ear, perhaps you can educate her a bit:)

Because we're c/ders, male underwear, no matter how it looks and feels, doesn't have the same attraction as female underwear!!!

Kinda defeats the purpose of crossdressing if they're male underwear!

I have both male and female undies. It depends on what mood I am in on a particular day.

i tried all kinds of men's underwear. only one type was enjoyable. it was a nylon - spandex material hip hugger with no fly. then they quit making these. or at least target quit selling them.

i was still in the closet and my wife accepted these.

nothing else came close.... what i now wear is not sexy ... vs high rise briefs. just what i want to wear.

I guess if women's clothes were made of burlap and linen I would still want to wear them because they are what women wear!

Years ago I tried some nylon low rise mens briefs without the fly but the thrill of wearing them was not there. I only wear real womens panties and will never change doing so. The male stuff got purged a long time ago.

None of my briefs have a fly opening, but the only thing they do for me is give me the support I need. I once had a few pairs of male tangas (two triangles of cotton with broad elastic holding them together at the waist). I felt a little "tingle", that I was wearing women's shaped briefs, without my non-supportive wife realising that I had chosen them mainly because they resembled women's panties, but it was nowhere near the feeling I had when putting on the real thing.

Probably because most male CDers don't want it to work. It probably works just fine for the SO.:)

To Missconstrued: ....and, Lord knows, I wouldn't do anything that might seem gay.

To several others: don't be to hard on the poor counselor; I just dropped that one on her. Her suggestion was during they same session when I told her. She said up front she had no experience in this area, and said I may want to see an expert.

If the gals wear "little boy shorts & boy friend clothes", why shouldn't guys wear "girly lingerie"? Who is going to see it anyway?

My Wife bought me the Men's silk boxer's, pajama bottoms, they just didn't do a thing for me! I tried them on, and never wore them again! Now she buys only panties and nighties!:battingeyelashes:

I tried that too switching back and forth to panties. That was over 20 years ago. Then I switched to panties 100% and never looked back. It is such a normal thing now. When I look at any guys shorts all I can say is Ewwwww.

I won't even consider womens clothes made for men, I want the real thing, no exceptions please!
I have worn silk boxers, and nylon briefs (with no fly) and they are just fine for what they are, but they are not womens wear, so when I feel feminine, they just won't do. I under dress about 50% of the time.
And if you are having trouble with your relationship because of gender issues, then you really need to find a therapist that has at least an understanding of the issues you are dealing with, nothing bad about your therapist, but no one can be all things for all people, and thats why there are specialist in this time of treatment.

I'm with Karen on this one! Ladies panties aren't that comfy for me. The thrill of wearing them all day under my drabs has LONG PASSED!

Now, THONGS, despite being uncomfortable, r an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MATTER!:heehee:

I found some nylon satiny shorts - possibly bathing trunks, maybe jogging shorts, who knows? - at Wal-Mart and they feel OK; I have no problem knowing I got them from the men's side of the aisle. In hot weather I have even worn them around friends who don't know anything about the CDing, so I get the nice nylon feel without the social difficulties.

My only gripe is that because they were meant as an outer garment the waistband is very wide, which is a bit uncomfortable around my big beer belly.

If I could afford it, I could go for some all-silk boxers. Back when I was a yuppie without a family to feed I got some nice silk long johns from LL Bean (see, I told you I was a yuppie) and wore them pretty much to tatters, but by the time I needed to replace them I had a family and responsible bills to worry about so I could no longer afford them.

So I guess for me it's more about the tactile sensation than the psychological effect of knowing that the clothes are for women.

If your therapist is a GG tell her to wear a pair of mens underware for one day,and she will have her answer, silky panties are so much more comfortable.

seems to be unaminous, no male undies can replace panties.

Susan,

You're in a tough predicament. My gut instinct is to get a new therapist, but that will give your wife ammo, and she'll use that against you most likely.

I'd go see your first therapist and explain to her why the male undies are just no good (if she's worth her salt, she will have read up on the subject before your visit). She should come around. Your wife most likely thinks you're gay (that's most gg's biggest fear IMO). If you are somewhat gay, be honest with her, you'll be happier in the long run. If you're not gay at all, you being as loving as you can, over time, will convince her of this. It took my former fiancee about two years to get the "gay" thoughts out of her head.

I agree with most others, fancy men's undies are useless to me. I have one pair of silk boxers that sit in the bottom of a box somewhere.

I tried it about twenty years ago. I didn't find it very appealing. I like lace too and the cut of women's panties.
