I went for my nail appointment today, after getting my gels filled, my nail tech put a set of acrylic pink and whites over my gels. She used a special acrylic powder that has the sparkles in it(almost like diamond dust). They will have to come off Sunday, but for the weekend I get to have gorgeous femme nails :)

Neat! That is like, soooo cool Dana! You've got an almost French manicure there with Acrylics, I was wondering what that might look like... And the sparklies, wow... I'm jealous...

Love your nails! Dana, you're such a fashion maven!

I still have mine. It's been over a week now. They will have to get filed down a lot or completely go pretty soon as I've got some guy stuff to do that I've been putting off. I started to file them down today but I just couldn't stand the idea of making them short. :( I've really become attached to them (no pun intended)

Dana: Love the nails, I'm so jealous ;) . Thinks about all of us with short nails this weekend and enjoy the nails.

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments - it is I who should http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-10/460749/bow.gif to you all :)

I do have gel nails underneith the acrylics, and they are almost that long anyway. We put the acrylic on over the gel so that I can then soak off the acrylics in acetone while still leaving the gels intact - neat, huh? :)

If it wasn't for the sparkly stuff in the acrylic, I thought seriously about leaving them on. But when my nail tech said she had an idea, and started doing it, well - I just couldn't say no :D

They look great Dana. But how come you can get to wear them all weekend? Do you not go out, or do the people who you bump into at weekends not bother?

I socialise at weekends and I couldn't wear nails like that for more than half a day without bumping into someone..

:D Tristen - don't you worry, I will be doing it tomorrow, the nails are a little long for constant rowing through the gears :)

Hi Julie - yep, I always go out and do stuff with friends on weekends. This was one of those rare times when everyone had other plans or were out of town, so I planned this accordingly ;)

I am sitting here looking at them thinking "Now, what story can I come up with to explain these if I decide to keep 'em?"

Fab DanaJ! I do sympathise, I managed to grow my nails a few weeks back but had to chop em off due to paranoia. I work with a few luddites who were bound to notice sooner or later.
