Hi,i'm new! WHAT ABOUT BALLET?

hi girls !
this is my first thread here...
i'm 19 and i started crossdressing when i was just 12....i loved putting on my mum's tights and bras... my great passion has always been ballet but unfortunately i've never practiced it, neither as a girl or as a boy. this attractionf for ballet and ballerinas has born when i was just 4/5 and i went to the kindergarden....here while boys did athletics girls did ballet and i past many hours looking from the window and wondering of being there with the other girls dancin and doing exercises at the barre.
at the age of 15 i really wanted to become a ballerina...so i decided to go to a balletshop and to buy a leotard, white tights, a skirt and pointe shoes(i had many problms with em because i needed a really high size...but that's another story)saying that i was sent by my sister or thing like that..

i really love wearing leotards tights and specially pointe shoes and everyday i think: why didnt i born girl? i could have practiced ballet, i could have mad many other things that as a guy i cant do! i'm not desperate...you know i can always engage with a ballerina...but I'd like to be the ballerina not another person!

i would be really thankful if someone gave me advice about what should i do, or told me about her experience...

Hi Ludo and welcome!

One thing you will learn here is that there is no time like the present and you are 19 so you are prime for what you want to do! BE a ballerina. There is a touring group of males who have been performing classic ballets for years with no women in the cast at all! The do the toe shoes and tutus. Carpe Diem! My mother swears I quit ballet cuz I didn't want to wear the tights...I must have been taking something or it was my evil twin :)

Well, I've been a belly dancer for years, so feminine dance is certainly achievable.

Go take the ballet classes. As said above, it is not all ladies. I would consider it to improve my ballroom dancing, crossdressing not even a consideration. I can follow a little in my dancing and try to learn both parts anyways to improve my dancing.

I was always jealous of my sister who took ballet but I didn't have the guts to take it up.

If you ever do start doing ballet lessons, do not force the turnout. Develop as much as you can slowly, never force it. That is how I screwed up my right knee a few years ago...
And yes, 5th position IS very akward.

I only started wearing pointe shoes last year, at age 60! And here's proof! If u can IMAGINE it, u can probably DO IT! If u want it badly enough!:D

Hi All-

For me dressing up as a ballerina is the best. I know that I could never take ballet and be accepted as nothing more than a crazy dude in ballet stuff. But the best part of it for me is the liberation, the feel of "becoming" the dancer. I adore all kinds of ballet wear. I guess my all time favorite would be a camisole bodytight. As some of us have said, if you really want someting.. go for it!

I say go for it. I took jazz/ballet classes one night a week for two years with my gf and it was fun being the only guy with all that feminininy. They treated me like just one of the girls and were all ver encouaging. Wear your leotards and tights to your very first class and you will be expected to wear them to class from then on. Read my previous posts about taking dance classes. I love wearing leotards and tights too. Let us know how it goes.

Brilliantly done, it is available on DVD and tape from Amazon including some used Region 2 (Europe) DVDs.

Welcome to the forum! I did an adult ballet class for about a year I was about 28 at the time and had a GREAT time!! It was fantastic I got to dress in the black leotard and tights and do exercises at the bare and move about the floor. I would recommend looking around your area and see if any of local ballet studios offer adult classes.

I did ballet as a guy for much of one year till my disability forced me to stop.

Before that I had done some as a 3-4 year old on doctors orders for my badly flat feet but that was scuppered by some of the parents of the girls in the classes. I had not missbehaved in any way at all they just didnt want a boy doing ballet in the same class as their girls! How utterly crazy is that!

I'd say go for it too. I did and it wasn't just to wear tights in public (although that certainly helped :heehee:). It's hard work and great exercise, but I also agree, watch your knees.

its great to meet another CD into ballet! yea well i wish i had the training too but as least i have the clothes! well i've been stocking up quite a lot of ballet stuff. but yea each time i go into a store to buy some "for my girlfirend" its a nerve-wracking experience....haha but whats a girl to do?

each time i dress up in a leotard and tights its such a rush...kinda hard to explain!

Brilliantly done I agree....its a great story...and includes a minor cross-dressing theme as it happens :)

Anyway I never went to ballet classes myself, but remember often doing some pseudo-balletic leaping and twirling when I was in high spirits (and on my own!) I would have enjoyed having a go at ballet if I had been born GG, I think.

I recently went to my first actual ballet performance at a local theatre... "Coppelia" by De Libe. I loved it!!! :love:p

As for dressing as a ballerina, well of course I see the attraction, but that's not for me..... Have fun with it yourself through, and GO AND SEE a ballet performance!! (or there is always Youtube :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZr3Eaj5u-U :D!)

One of my unfullfilled wishes is to have been a dancer. Not a ballerina, but modern/showgirl type dancing.

I'm far to old now to start, but you are not.

So girl, go for it :) Who knows, you could end up as a prima ballerina :)

but please remember that dancing en pointe should not be attempted unless you are trained! i've been guilty of this too....haha coiuldn't resist trying to look graceful...but there's been a lot of injuries resulting from people trying to dance enpointe without learning the basics first! be careful!!

Very true Samantha. Dancers, and especially ballet dancers have to be extremely fit and well trained.

I can only watch in admiration when they make something so physically hard look so graceful.
