Purple colored lipstick

it seems so difficult to find the perfect shade of purple colored lipstick. It is masked in all sorts of names that I do not know. It is also difficult to see the true color in the light of the stores. Can any of you ladies suggest names that I should look for that really mean it is purple or violet colored?

Have you tried Avon some times they will give samples :)

That takes me back a few years I had one i think it was from Avon it looked a deep browny red till you put on your lips it changed its colour to lilac
