I guess this is just many of the stories here about going first time out...

So basically I only have maybe few weeks left before I can't do this anymore, or at least not letting my S/O know about it. She knows I do CD... but doesn't know I've been going out somewhat.

Anyhow.. the past few times I've went out was kinda crappy, very late at night and just driving around, doing nothing. Tonight was first time REAL going out!

So I guess I got the pink fog today and in boy-mode I got some clothes and then came back and transformed. Katie is ready but it's nearly 11pm again. So this time I drive to the Wal-mart that's still open till midnight, once I got there I hesitated a few minutes thinking, should I do this or no...

I got the courage and walked out with my handbag and the sound of my heels were making my heart beat so fast. I just stayed about 20mins (closing so...) inside I walked around a bit, mostly no one even gave second glances, I know I'm not near even OK to pass, but I guess the whole package lets me pass. Some people don't even look my direction. Anyhow I was getting bit self-concious and thinking people were following me.. so I went to the magazine section and started reading some.. well half half, I was seeing if anyone was spying on me or just looking. Then came this woman and came next to me and started reading too! This went on for about 5-6 minutes.. then she left picking a few magazines... not a word or a glance to me really. Then it was time to go, I walked out as womanly as I could.. slowly relaxing.... everything went ok, walked to the car then drove...

Not done.. I was hungry so i stopped at Wendy's and went to the drive-thru and ordered a Salad thing.. tried to use my sorry ass Katie voice and ordered, the guy seemed overtly happy... maybe that's how men act to women usually or he read me and thought was funny/cute... either way I didn't get the "ma'am" I was looking for =(

Back at my condo, going up the elevator, at G 2 women came in, one was a security and other was just normal resident or just visiting. This person smiled at me when she got in so I smiled back! Didn't give a second look, so passed?

Wow that was a fun night, even though I wasn't brave enough to go earlier or actually buy something like some intimates or makeup... actually I need better shoes, these pumps are killing me...

I'll host the picture of myself what I wore tomorrow.... so tired right now lol. But basically was wearing: pinstriped dress pants(black)... of course fitted to me...(size 4 hehe) a green top thingy,, not sure what it's called, not a tank top really, it's cotton but kinda like t shirt but only covers the shoulders and not much else on the arms.

blue fitted jean jacket I got for $6! Some jewelery, my wig and usual makeup that isn't overly done.. just light pink lipcolor, eyeshadow with hint of blue, mascara, eyeliner, did my brows and blush/foundation/concealer. My nails were also done to a pink to match. I guess I can tell you what I was wearing under.. just a pink thong with these weird stockings I bought, I never noticed it was a garter stocking thing... first time, don't really like it, I thought I gotten the regular ones.. but yeah. And my beige handbag. Pumps were black as well...

Sorry to ramble on but it was just so fun, I'm not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow, I was thinking of going en-femme to payless outlet and buying a better pair of shoes... any idea what goes good with dress pants? Loafers? Boots? Strappy sandals(or too fancy for casual). I want something still feminie but comfy, these pumps hurts after 20mins...

I want to get jeans too but if I did go payless and got a pair of whatever comfy shoes, then I was going to go wal-mart and try some jeans.. if I dare to do all of this tomorrow in daytime!

Please help me with the shoes things! and what goes with jeans, just running shoes?

But as far as actually going SOMEWHERE I never have, I really want to and this forum is really helping me find the courage, Thank you everyone!!

Hi Kate

You had an enjoyable evening but you discovered the one thing most folks going out for the first time discover

Heels can hurt if your have not had the practice walking around in them. It can take time to get used to it

The good news is you did not get any bad comments :)

How about wearing boots with the jeans ;)

Hi Katie! Welcome to the forum!
Why don't you get the jeans first, and then go to Payless and try on several pair to see which one you like the best! Or, just get them all!:D

Congratulations on your first time in public, oh what a feeling, I remember what it was like when I first walked into a walmart enfemme, what a rush.

Ah just remembered I had some other shoes in storage.. might bring them out because they are more comfy... but still want to venture out today to buy some more... it really takes a lot of courage to go out though

I'm still asking though, what goes good with dress pants that is more comfy than my pumps I have.. strappy open toe sandals are comfy and still look very hot but is it too much for casual? Loafers don't look pretty enough?

Congratulations! YGG! I love reading stories like this :) It's posts like yours that first got me to go out in public to regular mainstream places fully dressed. My first time was June 2005. I bet there's someone out there right now who's read this and you have inspired them to go and do the same :hugs:

Isn't it amazing? ... that feeling of being out in public with people up quite close to you and yet they (seemingly?) can't tell or perhaps it's that we're "close enough" (to looking like a woman) that it's all ok as far as they are concerned (?).

My first time dressed in Walmart (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13344) (in Aug 2005) was like yours - fun and thankfully uneventful.

I can't wait for the next exciting installment of: "Kate goes mainstream!" :D

Oh Katie, you don't want to hide yourself from the world. You are so pretty. Get out, shop, get yourself a pedicure, or whatever. Enjoy your womanhood.

Your not UGH at all and looks like the shoes work great with your outfit. I prefer 3" heeled sandals, the strappy kind, I have at least 30 pairs of them in all different colors. I like to show off my painted toenails so mostly wear open toed shoes while enfemme. I posted on your newby post, good luck with the SO and just how much you tell her.

I'll see if I can get more pictures.. if I do go out tomorrow to payless or wal-mart I'll see if I can get a candid picture of myself in the place or something...

Thanks for all the support!

Hi Kate, I just loved reading your story. It sounds like you had a great time that you will remember for a long time. You look very pretty in your picture so it is no wonder that you passed so easily. My first time out dressed at a Walmart was about six months ago and I remember that day like it was yesterday. Congratulations on a very successful first outing.

Congrats Kate, I thought you looked great, it's no wonder that you had no problems.
Lately, these have been my all time favorite boots for going out, their dressy enough to wear with anything, and Also look fantastic with jeans, the heel is just the right height for walking for extended periods, not to high, and not to low. but even the best heels will hurt your feet after a while if the floors are hard concrete or tile..

Kate,

Your pics look great and not at all Ugh. I love the look of the top peeking out below the jacket on your butt because it enhances and makes the rear end look more feminine. And the pumps with slacks look is soooo hot. You have a lot more natural feminine potential I your looks than you realize and the world will only benefit from you getting out more. Go for it girl! You did great. Second and third times are so much easier than the first. Enjoy, and thank you for the wonderful story.

The best way to see what footwear goes with Jeans is yo look around in places like the mall or similar shopping area - even a Wal Mart and see what the ladies around you are wearing. I normally wear a nice, pretty flat or lower heeled shoe for a casual everyday look. Higher heels with jeans are, in my mind, for that "hey, look at me - I'm hot" kinda look.

Thanks all for all the great encouragements! I am still pretty scared to go out, especially near mid-day or whenever sun is out.. but I really want to go to payless, it's outlet store so don't have to tread through a mall to enter... I want to grab a pair of open toed sandal type thing with slingback.. I think someone posted that shoe here...

But also yeah see if those boots that Karen posted can be found and fit me there.. I assume those types you don't tuck jeans inside right? Didn't really thought of boots ever before...

Hmm what else can I get.. running shoes? I'd just like the boots for my dress pants as well, I don't like wearing heels that hurt me for long time if I do go out to shop etc..

Ugh Im still scared that people would read me..

yes, but that could depend on the jeans,
I only have bootcut jeans now, so they go over the boot, which is unfortunate, because the whole boot cant be seen that way. but what does show is very feminine.
But if I had some skinny jeans, I could just easily tuck those in the boot to show them off if the mood struck me..
Or can wear tights & a skirt with the boots, or dress pants, and they look great..
The boots are called Valore, made by Stacy Adams and came in either black or brown patent leather with the Croc embossing.. I have the black ones.
I think these are hard to get now, but I got lucky on ebay.

I have seen 1 or 2 nice loafer style shoes that look nice, but those can be hard trying to find, that just right look..

Well you look great there Kate...That's actually a nice combination of outfit...The make up is subtle...The ony thing that is off that I could say is probably the hair...But overall I wouldnt try to "read" you otherwise...:)
