I donated blood today. Because I lost my billfold that had my donation card in it I had to show my drivers license. Now I was in drab but my hair was big and my brows are waxed thin. The lady propped my card on her laptop and started typing information into the system. Then she asked me what my gender was. I told her male. She said,"Wow, you had long hair then."
Is that a question that they ask everyone? Maybe someone here works for the Red Cross. Made my day though. Leanne

P.S. I have a fem picture on my DL but it does say male.

She may have just been double checking if you looked female but your license had an "M" on it. The information may have just caused a conflict in her mind, and so (without ill intention) she just asked to clarify. I do that a lot, generally when I hear someone say something that doesn't make sense in a conversation or something.

I'd take it as a compliment. You looked femme enough for her to double check. :)

The Red Cross has more questions than a U.S. Customs officer, I am not complaining they need to keep the blood supply safe. I have donated over 50 times. It is a little thing, that just costs a bit of time. They are VERY concerned about Gay sex and travel out side of North America.
