OMG what an accomplishment... did 85% of what I wanted to do and felt maybe 80% successful.

Long story so if you don't want to read, skip it then!

So I got ready today early and just sat around my place, probably was ready around 3pm and was originally going to go to payless but was lazy so then ate dinner and later on around 8pm I got ready to head out to Wal_mart.

So got my bag headed out... elevator stopped a floor below, elderly lady walked in, probably read me because smiled at me and forgot to hit G or whatever floor she wanted when I got to my floor lol

Anyways that's passed so went to my car then drove to walmart.. parked... ok big moment, this time waited only like 1min before heading out. Again pretty confident because I blend in well enough no one really notices.

I think maybe 75%ish I pass just by passing people, if they examine me more maybe goes down to 60%. I'll explain why I think that in a sec.

So walked in confidently, again people pass me and don't even give a first look, and if they did a first they don't give a second. Even younger crowd like teenagers which would easily read quicker didn't really notice.

Either everyone knows and ignores or just thinks I'm plain ugly

Oh well.. ok so I browsed pants/dresses/skirts whatever.. then started to really look and got 2 jeans to try. So went to the changing thingy and went into ladies change room! wow first time! lol.. well not first time but first time as a woman.

The SA didn't notice or anything so just gave me that tag thing and let me in... tried it and was ok but didnt fit that well, and I wanted the black pair but only had size 3... need size 5.. 3 I can fit but not sure just felt a bit tight, so maybe 5 is ok... either way after I came out, I gave the tag thing back to the SA and another SA was there, it seems like she read me lol.. got all weird.. so I walked away

I got a bit self-concious after that.. I felt they were looking at me or tailing me.. a few mins after I saw the originall SA with another male SA walking around then I saw them look over to me.. so maybe they read me.. don't know but I just ignored and looked at more stuff..

So went to the shoes.. again nothing to get, sucks wal-mart always not great stuff... again passed by many people.. well not super many but enough so they can see me up close, nothing shakes anyone. whicih makes me super happy!

Toes got very sore so I had to leave, damn these heels all of them hurts except my strappy sandals which are too much to wear to wal-mart.

Walked around the cards section a bit then left.. around over an hour there, not bad!

Got in the car, drove to get some gas as well since i was below half. Thing with driving I don't like is, my car well.. it's a guy's car, even though I know very rare girls who do drive it.

http://i515.photobucket.com/albums/t354/KatieStephC/Car/DSC00135.jpg

I get enough attention as is being a guy.. everyone comes up and asks how is it, is it good etc... and for a girl to be driving this 305HP sports car that is used in professional rally courses... well I rather not use my pathetic girl voice!

So back to my story... gas station.. uh oh bit worried .. because it's near my work... and so happens that a security car that is basically adjacent to my work's suite came to get gas too! He prob saw me as a guy before and my car.. but luckly he didn't recognize me so I was ok.. same with others that were they filling, no response or second looks. Great!

Done so heading back finally... nearly 11pm.. ok got in and went to elevator.. YES another person coming from somewhere... it's a guy... woohoo.. he's like hi and stuff prob seems attracted to me, I talk very low like a whisper because I'm scared.. good thing elevator came fast, then we went in and he was like "yeah you gotta sometimes press it longer" for the way our security with floors work... so I didn't really respond lol.. then got to my floor I was going to say night like a good woman does usually... but he said it first and I said it whisperly again.. ugh I suck. Anyways I think he was attracted to me which is really cool.. lol at least what i think

So that's it... here the pics at wal-mart..

I can't see the rest of your face in those pictures, but from what I can see, you do look like a female.

To me Walmart is one of the toughest places for me to go to. I know I won't be going locally till I can become passable. Everyone I know goes there and it isn't uncommon for me to see someone I know there since there are only 2 in the 2 college towns.

I think i'm just mildy passable.. meaning at first glance I'm good, but if you keep looking you'll see the male cues.. at least women or men who can pick details....

Good enough I guess.. lol

Just looking at both sets of pics I think you looked great. All though I'm thinking you should have got those pants from the cell pic. From what I can see they looked pretty good with the rest of your outfit.

The cars not to bad of a chick car. My mom drives the Legacy GT w/ Turbo and some sexy rims. Besides I know a lot of girls that would give anything to own that car, including myself.

I know it's just that the STI, especially my year is extremely rare where I live, or anywhere really, like prob 100ish in my city? So that + girl driving it.... like I said, I get so much people coming to me as a guy, I bet if I'm Katie there'll be like 592352953 more chance...

Anyways too much talking about cars, more about dressing!

I think you look good, hun. I would suggest that you buy a pair of flats or heels that are only and inch or so but totally fem. Not as attention getting but certainly more comfortable and half the battle is being comfortable - also helps in passing. Save the higher heels for the time you really feel totally comfortable in them or you aren't standing and walking a long time. Too extreme draws attention.

Thanks, I'll try to find something, I need to get a pair of jeans so I can wear just running shoes... super comfy... that's if I ever get to do this again in the future when my SO gets back to living at my place...... so.. hmm

also I can never find a nice jacket like leather black or brown one or something that's good....

Congratulations on a successful outing at Walmart Kate! I have found that Walmart is the easiest place to go out and not be noticed. If you go there after 10:00 p.m. the place will be almost deserted and those people that are there will not even give you a second glance. The clerks there are the same way, even if they do read you they will not say anything. I just love going to Walmart dressed, it is always an enjoyable experience.

Sounds like you had a pretty good time - you looked good enough in your

photos to pass - I don't know why they were staring at you

i've ever tried to buy some women's clothes at wal-mart but decided to chicken out at the las minute. i wonder when i will finally have the guts to just bring whatever i want to the checkout counter. it also doesn't help that the self-checkout counters are usually not open late at night. oh well.....

Congrats on your Walmart outing and sorry that you felt like you were being followed around/talked about. I think you looked fine.

As for the car, is that the '09 STI? I heard they redesigned it from the boxy-er model. I haven't seen any of the redesigned ones where I live (Northern Virginia).
