While envisioning your avatar image with your feminine voice, it's really not too bad. Somehow you sound a bit like I do when I try a female voice - thought that was interesting. I've been practicing for weeks on and off, usually while driving home from work.

I think we both have a long way to go, but I'd say you're off to a decent start. I wish I could give you some tips in terms of how to get better at it, but I'm not very far along myself.

In some instructional (YouTube) videos I've seen, it was mentioned to use a falsetto voice to start with and work it down from there. I don't have much of a falsetto voice so that trick really did not work for me. You might give it a try though.

Keep practicing. Must practice. Good idea to record yourself like you did. It gives you the opportunity to hear how you sound to others.

Looking female is a lot easier than sounding female, huh?

Kate you did good ................... but maybe for the next try you could have something written doen so that you don't sound so unsure of what you are saying, that distracted from really hearing your voice for me .... but other than that you sound good :hugs:

thanks, but I know I need more improvement, long way to go... if you have any more comments on how to improve just tell me. I won't really use it much but just in case I have to talk...:daydreaming:

Very well done but the metering is too consistent. Each word was spaced exactly the same as the next. . Try to put some 'life' into it. Also there is no tonal fluctuations up or down. Your voice is too couched. Employ some more emotions, Happy, joy, fun. sadness, etc. Be real.

Kate you sound very nice and with time you will get more confident. I am starting my voice transition and find your efforts very encouraging. Thanks, Keli

I listened to the whole thing twice and to be honest, I think you have a very feminine sounding voice. I have heard many females with throaty voices (contralto) and still recognized them as female. Contralto is the lowest of female singing voices as tenor would be the highest male voice. In my opinion you have a passable feminine voice.

Thanks! This is good feedback, I'll continue to work on it more, and post more vidoes and see if it improves!

There are a few good videos on You Tube, that will give you some more pointers.

I thought your voice was very feminine---the problem I have is that mine is very gurly as long as I can concentrate on it but when I get to thinking about something other than my voice, I almost automatically revert to the male voice---trick is to do it enough so the femme voice becomes automatic

Even at this point I think the voice passes.
Yeah sure it could be better but even as it is right now, people are not going to think "male".

The best way to really gauge yourself is to make random phone calls to companies to ask about info, and see if you get called sir or ma'am.
Or if you are on any online RPG's, go to areas where they do not know you and participae in voice chat, this is also assuming you have a female character you can use in the game. See how people react or if anyone asks "are you a man?"
Problem about asking about your passability, voice, looks or whatever on a CD/TS site is that other CD/TS tend to be harder critics. It could be a GG and some CD/TS would find fault.

The only thing I can really see being a slight problem is the same thing that I do - sometimes the low tones sneak thru a bit. It is good right now, it just needs some fine-tuning is all.

Worry not.

With the youtube videos that show voice training, they do have good points but a lot of them tend to ramble, so it is like you have to listen close and pick out the relevant stuff and put it into order.

You sounded very good to me. In fact, I am jealous! My voice is very distinctly masculine, so nothing is going to help change it.

You should write out what you want to say, as others have said, or else read a book. You did seem very unsure of what to say.

Good luck!

Your voice sounds good! If you look good (I have a feeling that you do) and your body movements don't give you away, I think you'd pass pretty good in public.

I wish my voice sounded as good as this. What's your secret?

I thought it sounded spot on, not just "fine",not "not bad",but absolutely bang SPOT ON and i'm not just saying it, how the hell do you do it? , i've watched tutorials on you tube, read articles..practice in the car a lot, but i end up sounding too posh for my true diction..i'll keep at at it though...
