Hello Ladies:

I've been calling myself Victoria here just for fun but I didn't do that at the Pride Parade. I had the very best time. I started out thinking I was going to ride the Chicago Gender Society Float but when i got there they asked me if I would walk in front of the float with 2 other girls and carry the CGS banner. It was an absolute blast. Walking and waving and hooting and hollering. I walked the whole 2 1/2 miles in mini heels, my feet are sore as hell. We were on all the television stations here in Chicago it was fabulous! The girls were just as nice as could be. After the parade, we all stopped back at one of the girls hotel rooms to cool down a bit and have a coke. Then me and a few other girls took a walk through Chicago's famous boystown to watch all the festivites. All the boys of course thought I was a dragqueen so they were coming up and giving me bottles of water, and hugs, and candy, it was so cute. I'll be on the front page of every gay magazine in the city. LOL What a great time. When the girls and I talked about it - it was so wonderful. The whole thing about the gender society is that it doesn't matter what gender you are. You should be able to dress how you want when ever you want - so my being there really represented the true spirit. It was wonderful. So great to be there and have such a great time. I took some pics of me before I left, so here I am in all my glory.

Well Theresa, it looks like you were able to 'pass' ;) . The outfit is great!

I saw on the news there was an estimated 440,000 people there! And next year they expect a lot more because the parade is being held right around the time Chicago is hosting the Gay Games. The reporter was quick to let viewers know that will generate about $50 million in revenue.

They interviewed a lesbian couple and asked them if they thought the news focused too much on the flamboyant and not enough on the majority of gay/lesbian folks. They answered yes and told the reporter, "We're just normal people. We could be your doctor, your lawyer, your neighbor or your friend. We're just like everybody else." I wonder how many viewers got the message.

Glad you had fun. Maybe I'll make next year and if I do you can bet I'll have comfy shoes!

Extremely cool, Theresa! I wish I could have been there, or at least close enough to Chicago to see you on the news.
I love your attitude and you look sensational! :)
Maybe next year.

Hey Theresa,
You look great and what an inspiration you are. The Pride Parade was lucky to have you. I'm now kicking myself in the butt for not attending the one in San Francisco. Glad you had so much fun.

I totally missed out on the Parade, and I live in Chicago. The best part of the parade for me is seeing the drag queens and how good they look. Then I'm wondering how good the lesbians look.

Can anyone post pics of the parade on another thread?

I missed the Parade becuase I didn't know when it was scheduled and I was doing an ebay auction that made me stay home.
