I was wondering since a lot of us started CD at an early age were you ever surprised at what you found in you Mom, Sister, or other family member’s closet? My biggest influence was my Mom and when I was about 11 my mom had to run out for an appointment and I was home alone so I decided to take a look in her closet. I was surprised that my mom had a wild side! When I was at school my mom went to the gym 3 days a week for body building and swimming I always thought when she was at the gym she wore a leotard or tights….guess again very revealing sports bras, sports / exercise undies.
Anyone else ever surprised at what you found?

At 7 I don't know if I knew enough to be surprised... I guess we think the Mom's are pretty conservative but I did love her pink shear baby doll nightie and frilling panties which I had never seen before and stockings and bras and long line girdles!! Guess I was more surprised that women in general had all that pretty stuff to wear!!

For me it was exploring my grandmother's wardrobe. I think that because my cd'ing started up during puberty my love of girdles came from the wonderful variety that they had.

Mom wore a lot of gartered stockings at that time. Now I find that a bit more surprising than then. I just loved them the sheer and sliky material was great.

Ohh Yeah!! I discovered my grandmothers massive girdle collection one summer while painting her house.. While she was at work.. She couldn't figure out why it was taking me sooo long to get the job done!! Lol.

I wouldn't have been surprised by anything, seeing as how I did not BELONG in Mom's stuff in the first place.

Loved her chiffon nightgowns and slips and stockings, first chance I'd get I would sneak in to them, bra and panties, ewwwwwwww, they were bad!

My mom's closet was in mine and my sister's bedroom (we shared a room growing up...and now my mom wonders why I dress...hmmm...maybe because it had to be ALL GIRLIE!). Anyway, when I really started discovering the enjoyment of wearing women's stuff, I'd look in my mom's closet. She had lots of heels and boots and the big kicker was that at one time she even had a few wigs. I remember hearing her talking one time to someone about how it used to be fashionable for women to wear different wigs. Needless to say that I was disappointed that after a while I couldn't fit her heeled boots anymore.

An elastic band with two hooks attached. Couldn't figure out what it was supposed to hold
Sure, in the late 50's when I was 10, June Clever still ruled. Pantyhose was still a little way off. Mom's stuff was a constant delight. I had a few hours each day to explore. Ladies dressed in dresses, with nylons, slips, Wow.

What I found in my aunt's drawers were my best surprises. While my mom only had white bras, panties and slips, my aunt had matching colored outfits. I wore my first red bra and panties there....and pink, and black, and blue.....it could not get any better! I love babysitting for her.

Ah hem. I found something that takes batteries and at the young age I was I couldn't believe it was my mom's and my image of her changed a bit on that day. Still causes nightmares just thinking about the contrast!

omg i remember it as tho it was yesterday..i was 12 or 13....my mom ran kind of an "up-scale" beauty salon and she always had very nice clothes. one day when i told her i was to sick to go to school (an out and out lie of course) she told me to stay home and take it easy, as soon as i saw her car pull away from the drive-way, i was racing to her closet for a pair of pantyhose to wear for the day, i swiped a pair of hose and began just browsing thru the closet, when i went to take an old skirt down to try on i saw a magazine kind of tucked towards the back wall.......hmmmmmm.....what could it be and why is it tucked away like that. i grabbed the magazine and flipped on the light and to my TOTAL amazment it was an issue of "Playgirl" .......omg omg omg.....my mom......my "june cleaver" mom is checking out nuddie magazines....i couldnt believe it, not in a million years would i have ever guess my mom looking at Playgirl magazine......oh ya....it was an issue with James Caan in it ......yes of course i looked at it and omg was he something to look at

You must be the only one that never looked in their moms closet or drawers. I would have to say that if you did not then you must not have started until you were out of the house and bought your own stuff. But I think most of us started out by "exploring" places we should not have been.

I think I was more surprised at what I found myself wearing at times.. or more to the point what I tried to wear as some of my early attempts at buying my own clothes bombed by way of thinking my body type was really small and cutesy when in fact I am a bigger "gal" and hence need to readjust my thinking.. the amount of money I spent to dress like a little girl.. anyway I now shop in the womens section.. the bigger womens section..
