They heve been revilled, called the most despicable of names, hounded and shuned by a community, attempts by their husbands to defend their partners were met by derision, anger and utter, utter vileness by almost every one around.

The pack mentality kicked in, first one, then an other, kicked and battered at these women until, not a semblance of their true being remained ...........

Who in this day and age could do such a thing, I though we lived in an enlightened society, an empowered by knowledge society, a society that was more open & accepting .................. "HOW COULD I BE SO WRONG" ........... I am appalled that they could be treated this way:sad:

omy gawd yer guyz have no empathy as to what has happened to these two SO's ....but just want to know who it is.... ??????? far out.... this is what I mean when I tell my loving CDing partner...... why do you guyz want to know who this is... NOW THINK ...guyz/gurlz... if this happened to your SO how would you feel.........and react.... this is where you our loving CD'ers are not aware or the fact we dont care you CD its in how you present yourself ,..with out outting yourselves that could cause situations where us as your loving partners/SO's are beguiled like the above situation sheila's talking about..... shame on all of you for not having any empathy..........or realise pushing boundries causes.......geeze..... :doh: Anyone creating a situation like this or putting SO's through this should have their butts kicked, never mind bending their ears in words....or whether it is in the forum or not...

Sheila, honey, I've been here for less than two months, but one thing I've learned for sure is how much you are loved and revered here. And when you posted that passionate yet cryptic message in this particular forum, it seemed to me that you might be trying to rally the troops.

It's rotten when anyone is falsely maligned, especially when they are our dear ones and loving partners. And I don't think it's morbid curiosity to inquire after more information. I for one, as an appreciative spouse of a wonderfully supportive SO, would like to be able to offer some emotional support to the injured parties.

I do try to read most of what is put on the forum, for useful information, to make me think etc... I am now totally Bewildered what this post is even about. Maybe some back story or is it supposed to be something secretive.

The best description of the way the two SOs got ripped into was...."Like a feeding frenzy"

There is a saying that people fear what they do not understand and it seems then they attack it to destroy it so they do not have to fear it anymore. This is a very sad that fear like this still is so common but as we look at the world it is everywhere. I feel for these SO's and their families it makes my heart heavy. It matters not to me if I know them or not I wish for them recovery!

Sheila, Your report is very disturbing, but newsworthy just the same. I have mentioned recently that forums like this can be invaluable to those who have no other outlet, but as we all know sitting behind the safety of a computer people are not constrained to behave themselves as they would if they were participating in a discussion group face to face. Once the thread turns nasty and mob psychology kicks in, it's next to impossible to stop it. (Just look at the stock market) Sadly, this is one of the dark sides of internet forums... it can be a pain amplifier, and the perps can get away with it. Sad state of affairs.

What I am learning on account of being here, and since I have a temper is, it is taking a lot of practice to develop the skill to use the medium effectively... get a point across without tailoring it to the crowd and at the same time not being offensive.

I know how disappointing human nature can be at times, especially when things like this happen. Frustrating...the building is on fire, people are inside and there is no way to get them out, but you can't save everyone every time. However, when your heart is in the right place, like yours is, that's the antidote, and you pick yourself up and continue... dd

Along with most of the others here, I am totally confused! I don't want to insult or put anyone down, but there is something lacking here. In post #17 Shiela said she could not give any details since the SO's in question were not members. Then in post #19 Deborah Jane said that there were two threads where 2 SO's were totally ripped! Neither Shiela or Deb answered the question about where, when, and how this happened. Where is the proof?

As an individual who routinely reads almost all the threads on THIS forum every day (I am a very fast reader!), I wonder on what forum those posts appeared! I sure never saw them here, and knowing the way the Moderators operate I do not believe that type of action would have been allowed! To the best of my knowledge, personal attacks are simply not allowed, and should not be! As the detective said, "Just the facts, Ma'am!"

Debs,Sometimes those kinds of posts can turn into "The Women Haters Club"like in an old Three Stooges Short. Debs? Sheila? Was it one of those threads where an SO was saying she didn't like for her CD husband to dress? It does seem cowardly to gang up and give her the business. And I think we should all realize before we do this kind of ganging up and letting our tempers fly that 2/3 to 3/4 of the point in this forum is FUN AND FREINDSHIP! So there were 2 of those threads!? That's too bad. Most of the time I come to the forum for recreation to be honest. once in awhile people have serious points to make in the posts and threads and sometimes so do I but most of the time I'm an "old sillyhead" like in those Dr.Katz cartoons that were around in the 90's.
