Hi everyone!

I'm so excited about next week. :GD:
This coming Tuesday I will be speaking at not one, but two classes on the same day. What are the chances?!!

Last December, I got the opportunity to speak in my first ever college class (See my previous thread: Guest speaking at a college class (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96070)) and I must say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my crossdressing journey.
It felt so nice to be able to tell others about myself and educate them about who we really are as crossdressers.
I was so happy to do that and if another opportunity ever came around, I would do it again.

Well, last month I was interviewed by a student (Alana) who was doing a paper on heterosexual crossdressers and she and a small group of fellow students are doing a presentation as their final project for their Sociology class. After she was done, she said that if she can bring in a guest speaker she would get extra credit and so she asked if I could come. I said that I would be more than happy to attend and talk about myself and for the benefit of educating others. She said great and was looking forward to it.

This past Sunday, I met with two other the students from another Sociology class, Vicky and Michelle (See my post: Feeling like a college girl!! (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105730) ). Initially, I thought they were from the same group as Alana, but they were actually from the class which is before hers. They were doing the same project and were going to have a meeting with their group to discuss their class presentation and so, when they informed me that they were getting together, I figured I'd meet up with them and help them in any way since I was going to be nearby, shopping. :heehee:

We had a nice little chat in which I gave them a little background about myself and then I gave them some tips and information that they could use or add to enhance their presentation. They were really sweet girls and thanked me for taking the time out come out and meet with them.
I said it was not a problem and that I was looking forward to this dual opportunity.

After that first talk I did, I was hoping to get another opportunity. Well, this time I will be doing two talks on the same day.
This is going to be so cool. I can't wait! :)

Stay tuned for my follow up.

Hugs!

Congratulations and good luck Joann! If you only change one person's perception of crossdressing, then you've made a difference! I'm sure we all appreciate this.

JoAnn -- Good luck on your next classes. It's good to see that these students are getting their information first hand and from such a pretty co-ed besides.

you go girl. if we take away the shock value we become more accepted. I have been working with a college group called alliance. I am 45 and have been dressing all my life. I have alot to share. I think you do to. we are a politicaly and socially motivated group of mostly college kids but there are a few staff and some "like myself" public members. we have been making alot of attitude changes by holding vigils, for Day of Silence and transaction day, and Day of Rememberece. we also have discussion boards with the public on all GLBT issues. most recently we held a discussion on the criticly acclaimed movie, "FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO". this movie talks about and takes the bible thumpers out of the equation. all that want to this is an awsome movie that does not put the bible down just helps understand what it really says. a must see for any transgendered. www.forthebibletellsmeso.com
please keep up with the good work. faith without work is dead wishfull daydreams. my bonnett is of to you.
