I must be one of the oldest in this group to start on hormones, (77), but I did it. My doctor gave me a clean bill of health and yesterday I started my Estradiol. My only regret, that I didn't start much sooner. (younger)

To my surprise, my wife seems to be accepting it quite well, considering the fuss she made about my cross-dressing.

Not to my surprise, my insurance would not cover the Estradiol. Not that it's all that much, but I'm curious if it would be covered in Canada, the U.K. or other countries, if I lived there?

Now I really feel like part of the group, Trudyann

Congratulations!!

At 53 (well almost 54) I always thought I was waiting way too long. Its nice to see that moving forward happens no matter the age

I hope you and your wife enjoy the fruits of your hormones!

Veronica

You feel like one of the club? :)

Would you like ketchup on them? :whistling:

Seriously, in the UK - you could certainly transition (hormones, surgery) through the NHS. You would pay a (relatively small) charge for your prescriptions and it would probably take longer than paying for private care, although many choose to do the latter.

might not be covered here. but lots of big pharmacies that only charge 4.oo for 30day supply. like walmart and target. I have been onhormones now for a year and a half
