I was curious about the CD communities across the country and around the world. We have such a diverse group at this website. I see and read numerous postings from Europe and such. I live halfway between Sacramento & SF and we all know about Bay Area.
How is the area around you?
Do you have others you can talk, meet and socialize with?
Are there any clubs you can go to?

I live in Norfolk - a county in England that's somewhat isolated, and very backward compared to the diveristy in London.

London seems to be where its at generally, as well as Manchester - for the TG communities. :)

I know there are a 'few' people within a fifty mile perimeter of me but none that I've had the chance to socialize with although I've tried. As for clubs, it ain't like you might think. If you're going out in public here - you're on your own. Don't expect to see any CD events and such. There was a cruise supposed to be departing from the port here in December. A fair price for an eight day CD/TG cruise, but you had to have bought your tickets by June and I had no way to save that kind of money. Maybe next year...

I'm another one from England living in an area call the New Forest not far from Southampton. The TG scene is not bad, there is a big group call the Mayflower that has a number of meeting places round the South. I go to one of their meets which is 10 min drive for me. There is another group nr Poole that I go too as well which is a little further away.

In Engand we have one advantage over our american sisters in that we do not have to travel the distances to go to meetings as you do.

Chicago is a pretty decent place for TGs. Most gay and/or lesbian bars are at least okay with it. Thursday, the 7th, I'm meeting up with some TGs at a friendly Mexican restaurant. There are a lot of Chicago based websites with links to TG friendly places too. So it's a pretty good place to be if you want to enjoy being out dressed.

Tomita, here in Atlanta there are lots of us cd/T girls, I have a few close freinds close by but schedules make it hard to get together. We have a few Tg friendly clubs also.
I joined the Southern Bells soon after comming out on the web and since then have gone to many events ,we call socials,, as far North as Ohio, several fun weekends in Nashville and Chatanooga too.Its more fun for me taking a girl trip /weekend than a local night here :)
Tristen ,, I see events in Fla all the time,, if you join the Bells group you get on the e mail list for these nights out, usualy with a week or more notice. Anyone interested here is their link

I have always lived in small cities until the last five years, but my wife didn't approve of cd'ing, so never made the 'scene'.

I will be moving to Canberra (Australia's capital) soon, so i expect to find a CD friendly environment thriving there. Wife has left me, so should be able to make an effort to meet and greet.

Here in Tasmania there is nothing and nowhere to go any fun you have to invent your self.. I personally would travel anywhere in the state to find similar company but unfortunately people are so backward when it comes to girls like us i will probably be in a wheelchair before we catch up with the rest of the world....xx :cry:

I live about 10 mins drive from Manchester which I believe has an accepting gay community of the CD/TG scene. A few here on the forum have been. I do have a contact if I ever decided to go. Someday.....

I'm in San Jose and have not found anything. Carla's is a daytime who knows what, mostly for makeovers. ILIG is fun, but Wednesdays only. I've found just any old club to be fine, but alone is not too much fun. Gay clubs seem pointless.
