For the ones who didn't know I have been dressing at work on and off since last year and I have gone fulltime a little more then a month ago. Well today my Manager and I got the email that I have been waiting for, tommorow my Internal Identity is being changed over in the company. So my Manager and HR has asked me to put together a simple email to just shoot around the call centers to let people know that they wont find me by my old name anymore. So with Suzy's spirt and help from a few others I give you my Email that will be going out in the morning. Have a great night everyone

Hugs

Ashlie

Hello everyone,

After working with HR and Management over the past couple months, I am personally happy to share some news about my future. I am sure that for you that see me on a day-to-day basis have noticed that I have changed my physical appearance here at work, to fit what I have discovered to be my true self.

It has been a very tough decision to come out and transition here at work, yet I have come to realize that a huge part of my life is spent here each week, and to be able to be part of such a great company where I feel comfortable being who I am, has all helped me to do what I have done.

During the past few years, with plenty of support my friends and family, I have finally come to understand the need for what I have decided to do. With this revelation, a weight has lifted from my shoulders. After much consideration, I now know what I must do to make my life whole. Though this was a difficult decision, I have decided to begin living the rest of my life as Ashlie.

For some of you, this may be difficult to understand or accept. I do not ask that you change your personal opinion. I only ask that you continue to accept me as a valued member of the Call Center and the Company. It is my hope that my decision to do this has not caused much disruption, but if it has I apologize.

Now that my name has been changed and my email and contact info has been updated, I respectively ask that you address me using my new name, and correct pronouns, I am fully understanding, that it is going to take a lot of you to get used to not calling me Jeff anymore, and I hope you know I am not one to get upset. It is my expectation that I will maintain the good working relationships that I currently have with you all. Some of you might feel apprehensive initially, but please remember that I am still the same person that you have always known. Just a lot happier and peaceful now.

Thank all of you for your consideration, patience and understanding. Please also understand that I am welcome to questions that any of you may have.

Sincerely,

Ashlie ********

Well hi everyone, and thank you for all the sweet and caring words. Today was fine, My manager hasd to leave early today so she never got my letter back from HR. but my name was changed in our phone directory so its cool seeing my name on other peoples phones now. Hopefully I can send out my letter tommorw and on Monday after all the weekend stuff gets done I will start answering calls as Ash, so to me that really is the last step for me at work. The biggest thing right now is looking back like even 6 months ago, and remebering when i was toying about dressing all the way the first time at work, it is amazing to me still that the roads we get on can make us travel so fast sometimes.

dear ashlie-
first congratulations.
second-sometimes things dont always go that well. i had to wind up quitting one job i was in due to serious harrassment that had occurred to me.only recently i had met with a civil rights attorney ,whom does think i have a civil rights lawsuit.
third-fortunately for me i had a small part time business i am trying to get going again, and there isnt many biases there....as i m the boss, thus, no problems with small minded people in small towns.the mistake i made is thinking i would be able to transition in a small rural town, which sometimes is not the best place to start transition as i found out the hard way.
i do wish you the very best however in your transition.
