Sunday I was out doing the pawn shop thing and when paying for what I bought(4X12 speaker cabinet) I complimented the sales girl on her very nice top she was wearing saying it was really cute.
She said thanks but had a dazed look on her face.LOL I told her I did the CD thing so I notice nice womens clothes. She smiled really big and we started talking about all the cute clothing stores in the area.
She helped me out to my SUV with the speaker cab and I said you want to see some pics and she said YES I WOULD!
So I had about 20 pics so I layed them out and she said OMG you are very cute as a woman. Then she saw a mini skirt pic and her jaw dropped.
DAMN you have some sexy legs girl OMG!
I swore her to secrecy with the guys in the pawn shop but the other lady she could tell her.
So there I did it again with great results.May have to go in dressed sometime if I get enough guts to do it.

Great story! And why is it that it's always easier to tell women? I suppose it's because they're less threatened by it, and less likely to want to beat us up...or maybe we're afraid that men will make a pass at us??

I do out myself to SA's quite a lot.
I did get hit on last weekend. I had dinner in a very upscale restaurant and was headed to the ladies room and a very nice looking gentleman smiled as I walked by.When I came out he said "a pretty lady shouldn't have to eat alone"I said its OK I do it all the time.
He did send a drink over and I nodded thank you.Free drink?I couldn't pass that up now could I?

How nice that she liked your photos! I think coming out to a GG is best... I'd like to be brave to do it, but you look much more girly than me... GGs will like how you look, and approve...

I came out to one GG a while back and go in her store dressed all the time she loves it.Even trade clothes with her sometimes which is very cool.
I stopped by her store today and gave her a top I saw at Target today.
I told her this top is sooo you so I got it.She was really excited and said you are just so sweet thanks I love it.
I was in drab too.
Her BF was in there one day when we were trading clothes and he looked a bit pissed but she said don't worry I told him you were gay.Which is fine with me.
I'm pretty sure I could take him if he got ugly about it.

Cool story, Tracii. :)

It goes to show how open minded some people are about cd's. In this case, not only was she open minded and curious once you told her, but also excited about it. Wouldn't it be interesting if she decided she wanted a cd boyfriend after that? You never know.

I agree with Karren though. Swearing someone to secrecy, especially a stranger, is probably very short lived. Even so, I doubt she'd talk about you in a bad light based on her reaction to your photo and conversation with you. Perhaps she might even open up a mind or two herself by sharing her positive experience in meeting a cd. :)

O.K. I want everyone on this forum to swear to secrecy my identity as male.
Repeat after me.....

Thanks Tracii G

That's a great way to break the silence that (out of choice) some of us exist in.
I go out and meet other dressed tgirls, but outside that arena no-one has been told ---yet.....
I just think it helps a bit to release the inner tension more, in addition to dressing, which largely does it for me. I might do similar, with a GG I trust, in a store. Some are definitely more warm than others. LOL

Karren, you read my mind *lol*

Tracii, there's nothing quite as nice as a little validation, is there? I love reading about your flirty "outings." You rock, pretty lady :^5:

I'd say Karren is probably right about the secrecy thing lasting 2 or 3 mins that is too funny.I really don't care either way I've been going it that pawn shop for a very long time.
I figured she thought I was gay because I wear girly jeans and gender neutral tops most of the time.
She did remark outside what color is on your toenails? I love that color.
The young GG's seem to be very accepting.

It's interesting how differently men and women react. I am TS, and everyone at work knows about me although I have not transitioned yet but I am looking more and more female all the time (hoping to transition this year). Anyway, I took a couple of digital photos at home of me all dressed up and sent them to my work email. At various stages (basically whenever anyone went past my desk!) I asked colleagues did they want to see a photo. All of them did, of course, but the reactions were so different. All the men, without fail, looked very uncomfortable and didn't know what to say. I heard a couple of 'bloody hells' and so on. Saying that though they all said I looked convincing. Now the women, on the other hand, were all over me. 3 of them hugged me, a couple of them told me to 'go for it now, you have waited long enough already', I also got the comments 'I really like you lipstick' and 'your make up is perfect' etc. Made me feel wonderful. Men can tolerate you because they know you quite well, but women totally embrace you and welcome you. I feel it always best to reveal yourself to a GG first of all. Less likely to get a bad reaction in my opinion.

Oddly I seem to attract a lot of frostiness and catty remarks from women, not to say there aren't some absolutely adorable types out there who are very supportive, but a few are simply quite hostile.

The boys... well... they seem quite accepting... Least the ones I know are... Never had a barbed remark... well only from my best friend who got very upset when I told him I was going to have SRS... but even he is happier with me as me now.

I don't think you can say one sex is more accepting than the other... It comes down to individuals in the end.

That's because you are quite pretty Lisa, and could be seen as a threat. Even on my best day, I don't think I could ever be described as pretty (sob!).

Tracii, obviously you have conquered the worry about telling people about your femme side. I wish I had your courage!

We all thank you for helping make us CD's more visible! I bet the guy's in the pawn shop would get a kick out of it too.

That's a really fun story! It's great you are so confident like that. I don't think I've ever verbally outed myself to a SA. But one time, I was at Macy's and picked up a Nine West cami and a pair of CK jean capris and took them up to the SA. And she goes, "Oooo! These aren't for you, are they?" So I was like, "Well, you never know about people these days!" And she laughed and just rang me up!

I've probably outed myself other times though...trying on pumps and then purchasing them is kind of a big clue. ;)

Most people don't really mind or care.
In this day and age people are mostly used to diversity.

that is a grerat story. i just inspired me to do the same. i always wanted to tell a girl, especially a salesgirl somewhere and see how they react. it may be welcoming... i think my 1st outing to a gg will be at Frederick's. how can she say no to wanting to see my pics???? lol
