View Full Version : A few words about breasts
As men we’re all interested in the female breast: as CDers we develop a more detailed and ‘inside’ knowledge of the practicalities of sporting a pair of bumps on the chest (and supporting them!). Usually these are prosthetic, though a few of our sisters are fortunate enough to have grown their own.
As CDers using fake breasts we have the advantage that we can choose the shape and size of our bosom and even vary it from day to day to suit our mood or style.
When I CD, I may dress in one of two different modes. When I’m at home, dressing in private or with just my wife for company, I go fully femme, with wig and make-up, but I opt for a small-breasted look, for several reasons: I don’t actually like the encumbrance of a big pair bouncing around in front of me, I don’t require to pass as a woman anyway, and I guess I don’t want to flaunt a sexy, voluptuous look in front of my wife.
When I go out in public as Ruth, I am in a slightly different mode. For reasons I don’t intend to defend in this thread, I like to try to pass as a woman when CDing in public. I try to look unremarkable, so that means having average sized breasts for my build. These are larger than the minimalist, built-for-comfort home model, and I even sometimes feel a little uneasy about the amount of bosom I have on display. I find this on reflection slightly odd, but it is an instance of how our appearance is always conditioned by our self-perceived role.

Hi Ruth, I am with you on looking presentable, I don't wear any forms, mine breast are pretty nice as they are. I do sometimes use the chicken cutlet forms that I bought years ago at Bergners for 50.00, they add one cup size. I have some outfits that I need a little more to really make the point, otherwise I am OK with what I've got as long as I use a little tape to boost them up. I really want to get a breast lift to stop having to use tape but my wife won't go for it so I'll keep taping.

I used to wear forms and do pretty much the same as Ruth has described (and for similar reasons). Now with a little more boobage, I go without forms and rely on various styles of bras to help me show my bumps.

I like to sport a C cup. I only go out on Halloween. I love my bumps.:hugs:

The bigger the better. I support a lot of your reasoning but I prefer big full breast. I have a large frame and large breast balance it out.

I like a nice C cup. They fill out a top nicely, and look natural.

When I got my first pair of forms it was an expensive purchase, I bought Amoena's so it was something I discussed with my wife. I had decided I wanted a C cup but my wife preferred I wasn't too big so I settled on a B cup. I wasn't at all disappointed that I would be a little smaller than I had wanted, just getting them was enough for me. One thing I have learned though is depending on the type of bra and the style, fabric and colour of the top I choose to wear my bust can be anywhere between almost unnoticeable and just enough.

Sometimes I go commando (no forms or bra) other times I will have a B cup, with silicone forms. It really depends on my mood or clothes I'm wearing.
But I truly think if you want to be read in public, the bigger the better! There are a lot of GGs out there that don't have more than an A or B cup and I think you just draw more attention to yourself the bigger they are.
I'm tall, and every tall women I've ever seen has smaller than usual breasts, it's as if a normal woman were stretched out. Maybe it's just what I notice...

My first pair of breast forms were HUGE  but in the past year or so I've gotten a bit more conservative and purchased a smaller pair. Sometimes now I don't even use the forms if it's a nice pushup bra that I am wearing

My first forms were a size 8. After putting them on, I felt way too top heavy. Just didnt feel right. I decided to return them for a size 6...much better and more natural looking for a tall person. I now have a C cup rather than a DD!

I am one of the lucky CD's who have natural breasts. Mine are a perfect (according to my fitter!) 40 B. If I want to make them a little more showy, I wear a 38B bra. That also helps to provide more cleavage. I have a rather small boned frame, so the 38 or 40 B is ample. I don't wear forms at all, although I do own a D cup pair. Don't know why I bought them, because I have never worn them in public! And probably never will!

I'm with Jennifer. For me BIGGER has always been better. DD cups suit me best. Working out has toned a few inches off my waist, which enabled me downsize a bit, but my natural 48B's are lost in proportion to my gargantuan frame.... It ain't easy being a "Big" girl. It always turns out looking disproportionally obtuse.

I am a little more than average in the weight department and am self conscious about my shoulder width. I find my natural 44-A and a half to be nicely augmented by a pair of "gel breast enhancers" I purchased at WalMart for about $20. I realy like the enhancers as they feel very comfortable for me. But, sometimes, my clothing styles seem to beg for a bit more. Hence, I opted to purchase a pair of forms that I prefer wearing with a slightly smaller bra. With the forms, most times I wear a 42C bra. When I look down, they often look HUGE to me. But, when I look in a mirror - front on or profile, they seem to be very proprtionate for me.
I do not have any desire to wear the DDs. I want to be sure I don't attract un-due attention but rather wish to simply blend in. :2c:

back in the early 80's (when I transitioned) I got up to a 32C with the right bra. There were times I felt that even those were bumper bullets. Now, things have settled back and WHEN I wear a bra its a 40B.

It's more about how I feel, than how I look. Blessed/cursed with a b cup, on a 46 chest that's no big deal, really, in fem form. But as a guy, it sure is obvious. Wearing a bra and feeling it and the subtle movements is all it takes for me to be content with what I have, also considering that I like girls with smaller boobs as well.

Forms that fill a B cup are right for me. Any larger looks out of preportion.

I'm lucky enough not to need padding or enhancers but I do like to wear underwire, shelf bras to bring me up and in for a natural, bouncy look. It helps the presentation a lot.

Originally I had a C Cup and decided recently to buy new forms and go up one size to a D "for the fun of it." Once I put them on I fell in love with the size and feel. I wear a 38D bra now with D Cup girls, and they just make me feel more complete, more feminine. They do have more weight and a little more bounce, but I enjoy this and love how they look in a bra.

I come from a family of large breasted women. Although my mom was petite (4" 11", 115 lbs soaking wet), she wore a 36D bra. All four of my sisters are a D cup or larger so at 38 DD I fit right in with the rest of the females in my family. I also have three daughters, several neices, and numerous female cousins with massive boobage. Anything smaller would make me feel out of place.

The question was asked on another post about why we dress like we do and my answer was because it is what I like in a woman. Same thing for breasts. I need them to make the illusion but in a woman, they aren't that big a deal (bad pun). Proportion is key to me, so I have "cutlets" when I just want a little (A cup plus me), and with my shoulders and frame "C" cup triangle shapes that I can wear with adhesive for the "look".
But a girl with a nice B and legs all the way up :daydreaming:

I bought my first and so far only (though not the last) pair of forms in January.
I had researched how to measure up for them, and taken the measurements myself so I'd know what to ask for. 40 D-cup for both bra and forms. I thought that sounded about right, but nope! I guess I measured wrong, cause the clerk told me just by looking I was between a 36 and 38. Wow I was way off, and after trying on the 40 I relented and went with a 38, perfect fit. :)
The expert on site also suggested C-cup forms would look more realistic on my lean frame, but I had my mind set on the single D's. Take it from me, a young and inexperienced CD, if an older and more experienced sister offers you advice you take it to the bank. I didn't and as a result I'm a bit top heavy until I can save the cash for a more reasonable set.
I'm happy with the ones I have, but I'd never be convincing in them. :o

I was wearing forms for a while (to about a C cup) until one of my friends made the crack, "you have bigger tits than most of the women in here!" I suppose it was a bit disproportionate, being of the tall & slender variety.
I found a bra, though, that pads and pushes my natural A's (or thereabouts) to looking like a B... and I'm happier with the look anyway. (Hooray cleavage!) It's nice to leave the silicone at home.

I have two sets, one is a normal "B" and the other a set of those "chicken cutlet" enhancers. I tend to like to look very average, which in my area is smallish in the boobie dept ( a college town, younger women on average). I'm thin as well, so small looks right. Definitely helps with blending in.

My professional prosthetics fitter took one glance at my 38D forms (size 7) and said immediately that they were definitely too small for me. She emphasized that to look right on me, forms would have to be either size 9 or size 10, with the exact size depending upon the brand/model/shape and depending on how I wanted to look. She found one pair of size 9 in her trial stock that she said looked not bad on me and that I would look natural enough in (within natural variation for my body type), but she indicated that the size 10's in either of two models (brands) she had would look better on me.
A few weeks before that, I had been to a bra store (in a different city) that also did fittings; the woman there (less experienced than the one described above) had also taken one look at my size 7's and said they were too small for me, and that I needed either a size 8 or size 9. The professional fitter I mentioned in the first paragraph showed me (about two weeks later) why a size 8 would be too small to look natural on me. So between the two of them, I was being told that I needed at least a size 9 and the pro recommended size 10.
I did go with the size 10 after all. To be honest, in the model I chose (Amoena "Personally" asymmetric), on me, the size 9s looked "pretty good" and the size 10's had that little bit of extra that pushed it into what the store clerk accurately described as "voluptuous", and I decided that if I was going to pay that much anyhow (a few hundred dollars per form!) for something I obviously wouldn't be able to wear to work :heehee: that I'd go with the sexier size 10. I haven't regretted the choice at all: women tell me they look great on me and are usually startled when I whether maybe they are a little too big or too exaggerated: they are taken aback for a second and quickly re-assure me that, absolutely they are not too big, that they look very well proportioned for my body.
Now, how big is a size 10 form on me? Well, to get a full-coverage bra (one in which the form itself is completely covered by the material), I had to go to a more specialty bra store (where they sell bras professionally, not just as one of many piece of merchandice), and after fine tuning, we found that the right sized full-coverage bra for me for my size 10 forms, was a 40G. The fitter had started out a little wary of a guy coming in and asking for a bra fitting, but when she saw me in the 40G, she stared a moment in amazement, and said they looked beautiful on me.
I've been back to that store a few times, and these days the co-owner I usually deal with there gets upset if I try to buy a smaller bra (e.g., an A cup to fit my natural chest), and isn't even especially happy selling to my size 7 (38DD these days, I put on some weight). She asked outright last time why I'm wasting my time and her time with the smaller bras and forms: that I have "stature" and I have "presence", and that I need the larger forms to look right.
I've had two women argue with me briefly {in separate incidents} when I told them that the 40G's I was wearing at the time were forms: each of them were convinced that they were real breasts -- so you know that women are not generally perceiving my large forms as being disproportionate for me. (The first of the two is herself a drag king, and has seen her share of fake boobs on drag queens, but she thought that mine were natural breasts, not even implants. Oh and we were at a TG party at the time.)
To place context: no, I am not especially large. I'm about 6', 205 pounds these days, and I'm typically in between size 14 and size 16, so "Large" is usually large enough to fit my torso (but the arm-holes might be cut too high or the length might be just a little short, especially if I'm wearing my larger forms.) XXL is visibly too big for me in everything except some tailored dresses or pant-suits.)
So how big is "big" and how big is "too big"? Well, so far the only people who have ever given any indication of noticing my 38C forms are professional bra sales people -- and I'm including when I wear them to work in "guy mode". (Though, I'm not wearing stretch tops.) At 38DD, sales clerks in women's clothing stores notice, and some people notice if I deliberately wear clothes to emphasize them, but most people don't even notice when I wear 38DD (even when I'm in "guy mode"), even if I'm wearing a blouse with a little bit of tailoring (darting) to give some definition to the outside curve of the bust. It is, as best I can tell, more or less the opposite of the fear that many have that anything above a B will be an "eye magnet": that, on me, even when I'm gender-bending, if I'm not deliberately showing my bust off, that people fail to notice even 38DD on me because somehow for me, people perceive it as being a natural part of what "should" be there. And apparently when I'm fully dressed, the size that is appropriate and attractive for me is 40G.
(And, no, I do not get cat-calls or stares or "taking to the chest" when I wear my 40G even in a dress with a bodice: instead, it's typically the "look-over", the comment of "Nice!" and a smile. Enough to notice and admire, not enough to be pestered about. But of course, a 40G is a little more obvious in "guy mode".... but you'd be surprised how few "second glances" I get even then!

I am tall and thin for a man. but for a woman I would attract attention with C cups or larger so I opt for the Bcup bras (40B with silicone breastforms) I look normal with them

I have not tried this, but I found it and I might try it at sometime. They are called "Breast Implants Sizer" (http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=39762&procid=1&catid=1873). They are for women that are contemplating breast augmentation, but aren't sure what size they want to be. So you can start out small add water to them, or back it out as the needed to see exactly where you would like be. Pretty clever.
