Hi Andy, that sounds really nice to me, and if a breeze makes it flutter a bit, even better.

Way back in the olden days, before I had ever bought any of my own femme attire, I would always "borrow" either a full length black slip, or a shorter hunter green chemise from my wife for lounging. Thanks for the memory.

btw, I greatly prefer a screwdriver 2 a g&t.

I can't stand it any longer, I have to go buy a slip now.
Everybody wears one, don't they? But I've never tried one on.
But, nylon or satin? What's the best choice?

Andy,

Sounds nice!

I just wanted to ask you a question. Please don't take offense. In Scotland the guys do wear kilts which are like skirts. This is part of your custom. So if a guy pushes the envelope and wears a skirt is that looked upon as unusual since kilts are common place?

Just was curious.

If you are just going to get a few... try to get the better qualilty, anti-static, nylon slips. Half slips are very versatile. Don't buy white... stick to beige or black. Prints and wild colors are fun, too! The slip should be about two inches shorter than your skirt, so plan on something that will work with different outfits. You will be amazed at how different your clothing will look and feel while wearing a slip.

The ultimate is a full slip and works best with dresses... or just wear it alone to lounge around in!!!

TIP: If your slip does start to cling to your legs, just rub some moisture lotion or hand cream on your legs or even on your hose. No more cling!!!

Got to have some slips, Ronnie!!! A girl just isn't properly dressed without one! ...or two ...or three ...or ten ...or more!!! :D

Ther is definately no better feeling than a slip rubbing on your legs and a little lace poking out the bottom of your skirt ...reading one reply i thought how funny it would have been to be born scottish because my kilt would have to be short with a slip worn under it and lace sticking out .... :eyes:

Guess I'm an oddball but I don't like 'em. It's always too hot to overdress here. The less the better. Maybe someday I'll get the itch but right now I don't see a need for them.

I have always worn slips. I ***never*** wear a dress or skirt without one. With a dress I always wear a full slip, usually a Vanity Fair. I simply cannot imagine being dressed without a slip on .... just t'isn't ladylike not to wear one! Oh, and did I mention how nice they feel?? .... soft & smooth & silky..... :)

you GUESS you're an oddball ? Tris, we've all known that for months.

re: the SLIP - just try one - if it's too hot for undies, just wear it as a dress, my dear. I promise you'll love it.

I used to like nylon, but now I find lycra-microfibre is much nicer. It's softer and absorbent. But it doesn't slide around on your skin quite the same as nylon or satin.

A smooth nylon slip. That's how I got started. At 13 I began to wear my mother's smooth satin slips over her nylons, garters and panties. What feelings unfolded. I becamed hooked into CDing. Now I wear slips under summer dresses and pleaded skirts all swishing against my nylon legs. There is nothing like it to evoke your femininity.

I love slips too! I just bought two satin slips from Victoria's Secret. One in pale pink, the other black. They're cut reeeally loooow in the back and have crisscross spagetti straps. And they feel sooo good for lounging with just a pair of satin panties on underneath...

A kilt , a real Scottish one, is a particular very very obvious piece of clothing. It has a certain length of material and a certain number of pleats. It has to come to a certain length on your leg or it is just 'wrong'.. It is cut a certain way and so when someone is wearing a kilt it is as obvious as if they were wearing a boiler suit. It's a kilt for a man.

So, sorry. No you can't push the envelope. There is no room to move without it just being plain 'wrong'.

Dance kilts for women, they are sexy as hell, but they have their own rules. And you can tell from half a mile away, one from the other. It's a shame but true.

And so back to the slip thread...

Personally, I can't imagine taking a personal flash full photo without not having at least a mini, or a longer half-slip for modesty's sake (for what appears at the lower end as undergarments and bulges)... Particularly if the dress matirial is thin, and the colours light.

Have you ever worn one?

If you could wear a slip under one it would feel much better!

I have several kilts, and the worst thing about them is that when wet the pleats at the back slap against your legs like a saw!

Fantastic and stylish garment, but made of real wool and very rough when wet!

This thread reminded me of how delightful it is to wear a slip.....so this afternoon, I put mine on (it is white with lace around the bodice and hem)...with nylons and heels, my wig, earrings and a touch of makeup (mostly lipstick). I feel so wonderfully feminine, and am thoroughly enjoying seeing my reflection in the mirror.

It's nice to see this thread is alive again! When the subject first came up it was brought to my attention by a certain moderator/administrator that women of THEIR age don't wear slips. ;) ;) Just goes to show you the class of "ladies" we have in charge of this forum! (And I don't care HOW hot it gets in S. Fla.) :D Slips are pretty, sensuous and if your clothes are thin or unlined, they're functional as well. See my avatar pic? I'm wearing a shiny black nylon mini slip between that calfskin and those thighs. And it feels veerrry nice! :)

 This is just wonderful... to see so many ladies with such great taste and an exquisite fashion sense!!! The slip... the one article of feminine fashion that has no equal. There is no mistaking it for anything like what a man would wear. It is for women only! It has a functional purpose that is unique to women's fashion. Yet, it is sensuous and luxurious. It is the one article of lingerie that is meant to be exposed... although, just partially... a peek at the neckline or under a sheer blouse or dress!

The slip... such an amazing garment ! ! !

Indeed, lingerie for grannys. Some of us are grannys (or even great-grannys), and we enjoy the sensuousness of lingerie as much as the younger girls.... :)

The feeling of slips is absolutely wonderful with a garter belt and stockings. I can also remember wearing my first which was my Mom's when I was a teenager. My Mom was initially shocked when she found out, but accepted it and would let me wear any of her sexy underwear around the house when my Dad was not home.

was out at the mall the other day with my (non-approving) wife.

we went our separate ways and agreed to meet back at the car park.

I bought a lovely slip in M&S, but I knew if I returned with a bag there would be questions from the ever-inquisitive lady.

I slipped into the gents and donned my new slip under my clothes. It was a hot day and I was wearing just jeans and a cotton shirt.
the straps are bootlace thin and didn't show.

Wow!! the cool feeling of that nylon satin slip around my shaved body as I walked round the mall. my secret. ..........one of the joys of under-dressing. :)

Couldn't help but mention that slips have an overall smoothing effect which aids in clothings ability to remain sleek and resistant to wrinkling. My 2 cents worth. Dress for success, Love, RebeccaLynne.

Hi All: Charlotte, if that is U in the picture U R so hot I can't believe it! As far as slips go, they R the second most feminine garment, second only to brassieres. They R very functional as well.

I bought myself a Farr West slip for my birthday. Heavy satin and black (matches everything black) and very high quality. Here is what I have learned. If I buy short slips I can wear them under pants and they R very comfortable and they feel great slipping inside of my pant legs. A slip will mute the outline of my bra so much U can't really tell I am wearing it except for the shape it gives me. I don't use forms, but I have very round breasts when I am in a bra.

Slips R very functional, comfortable and sensuous not to mention feminine. They come in many styles and fabrics. They can be cotton slik taffeta or satin, with lace or with pleats tight or full. Some of my favs R vintage Barbizon fitted slips with a side zipper and R made of taffeta that swish when U move in them, but be prepared to pony up some cash for those. The other quality brands R Farr West, Lagerfelds and some others equally famous. The hardest thing is to find one that fits. They have to be fairly close to your band size but not so tight they don't move a little. A great scource of info is ebay, U can see as many styles as possible in a short time, and find many bargains too.
