I've been living full time for about 2 months now and loving every minute of it.
Well today I got an job offer to work P/T as a doorperson at a local "coffeehouse/Indi Rock club". They have local bands every Fri. and Sat. night...blues, rock, reggae, punk... you get the Idea. Theres not much to the job... collect the covercharge and stamp hands. My problem is what to wear!! Most of my cloths are casual everyday wear. How do I ramp up my everyday wear to look more "Rocker Chic "?
I do have a pair of knee high black boots and one mini skirt, so I can get throught one night, but what to wear after that I don't know.
I start this Sat. night...Any suggestions???
Thanks
Paula

Oh Peka! Very jealous I am...
Ya sure wouldn't be able to beat some skinny ass jeans , maybe with some with a few fashionable rips and scrapes. And, of course, a nice tight t-shirt of the band that's playing that night.
You can prolly go a little heavier on the makeup, too. That's always fun!
Rock on, sis!

Go Beautiful, That is Awesome....!
You might try a pair of tuxedo shorts and top no tie though the shirt opened abuttin or two, up the amp pink on the lips that's an actual mac color very to k and roll. Kind of like a cocktail waitress gon bad. You can get the shorts at a uniform place ore Express has some sexy dressy shorts I got a real cute red pair there not to long ago.
Congradulations on the job and going full time. All the best...

From what I have seen at places like that, you can never go wrong with a slight goth chic look. Meaning black or red fishnet stockings, black mini skirt, a nice top or blouse. I say slight because I don't think you would have to go all the way Goth with the make-up etc. But if you want to, go for it! Congratulations and have fun with it.

No one really pays attention to the door person anyways so you would not need that many outfits. Just a few to swap.

I wish that I could help, but this is way out of my fashion range; nonetheless, good luck with it.

Your right I can't go wrong with basic black and jeans. I think I'll up the jewery abit and I'm thinking about adding some colored extentions to my hair, maybe Hot Pink or Blue.

I think having a 6'-6'5" (depending on the heels) Transsexual standing at the door may change this. I'm hopeing it will and so is the owner.
Thanks for the suggestions, Keep them coming please.

It doesn't matter what you wear, just be confident. Black works, glam doesn't hurt you, and sexy will carry the day. I like the goth suggestions.

I'd be tempted to try a pink or bright blue bob wig. Maybe shiny black leggings?

Taking some from each of the posts and you've got a decent look for the coffeehouse/rock club sence. Colored extensions, more jewlry, tight short skirt, sexy nylons, a really hot blouse but heels, I don't know, take some kind of flats the first few nights just in case. Everything considered, you be rockin' with the best of them girl, have fun.

Black leather is always good, jacket, mini, pants and some piercings. The "I take no S***" look would be my approach for this audience and task.
