On May 8th I sent out an e-mail to the staff in the company I work for (Olympus) and also to a few of our customers . If you haven't read it its HERE (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105320)
The reason I made the letter so long was to make an emotional connection with everyone. That is the only way I felt I could get everyone on my side.
So far I've had over 50 replies from Olympus staff and customers across Australia and New Zealand.
Here are some of them :
Wishing you all the very best and all my support now, and what lies ahead.
Till you return, I wish you well.
Kind Regards,
Tony
May the Sun, Moon and Stars shine for you, be happy and I may do a double take next time we meet but you will always be a great person to me...............Bravo............
lots of luv
Sharon
I met you only briefly last week at the conference, but did meet you when in training with Elaine when I first started my time at Olympus.
Reading your story brought tears to my eyes. I have some understanding of your condition, however can only imagine how happy, free and empowered you now feel.
This may sound condescending - it is certainly not my aim - but congratulations!
I hope all goes well on your leave and I look forward to seeing you again next year.
Kind regards,
Elizabeth
You don't know me, but I just wanted to let you know that I think you are very brave and am glad that you have received the support you need from Olympus. I wish you all the best and really appreciate your openness in communication with the company. If people give you a hard time just remember that there a lot of people out there giving you support. all the best with the surgery.
regards
Karen
Congratulations on taking the steps necessary for you to find true happiness.
I hope that you receive lots of support and encouragement from everyone in your life in order to make a smooth transition.
Cheers,
Dave
Hi
Well done and I am sooooooooooooo proud of you, what a risk you took. I am so humbled.
I couldn't be more happy and proud for you............and PS it's not fair that you are so pretty!
Can hardly wait to see you on the 30th, please bear with me if I call you Richard as Richard (was/is) such a special and warm person it'll take me time to call you differently, but absolutely delighted for you!
cheers Leah
Congrats! Your story is both courageous and inspirational.
I hope it all goes really well for you :)
If there if ever anything you need, please let us know.
Kind Regards,
Ina
Let me simply say that I applaud you for pursuing your dream of happiness. I also want you to know that you have my total admiration and support.
Well done
Stuart
I understand what you have gone through as I know someone who went through the same.
You are very lucky that you have friends and family who understand. The girl I know didn't.
May I say you look very pretty I wish I looked as good.
Best of Luck
Noela
I dont know you very well however met you in Perth with Ian and have seen you round a couple of times.
I just wanted to say good on you and that you look stunning in those photos! It really suits you. That must of taken a lot to send us the letter you wrote and you have my full respect.
Kind Regards,
Elesha
Big shock....even bigger that you are sooo drop dead gorgeous. I am so happy that you have a lot of support as I can imagine it is one of those very happy/sad times where uncertainty and acceptance are an issue. As you know I have always considered you not only a colleague but also a friend (although we don't see each other much) and hope that any slip ups I have will be overlooked and/or laughed off.
Love Cathy
Your past struggles and the decision you have now made to change your life, must have been incredibly difficult at times. I couldn't pretend to be able to imagine what it's been like for you.
However what I felt compelled to convey to you is how much you have impressed with me, with your centred approach and your grace. Others have helped and provided support but this really is 'all about you'.
You have my admiration and of course my support.
Kind Regards
Teresa
I have a little difficulty waiting for the official date and hope it is not premature to address you as Suzy
As you know, Teresa briefed us as the management team a couple of days ago before flying to Perth for the next step with you and the W.A branch.
I write to offer my personal support to you in what is no doubt a time of conflicting emotions; excitement that having made the decision that you are moving forward with what has clearly been a lifetime desire, uncertainty at wondering how people might see your situation and nervousness at the scope and scale of what you are undertaking. No doubt there are many more emotions you will be feeling which I may or may not appreciate.
From my perspective as a consultant (albeit one who has been here for some time) I could not be more proud of the company for the way they have moved forward with you on this and the dignity and sincerity I saw in your sentiments and approach.
At the managers briefing, I saw a bunch of people who accepted and showed empathy for you.
I admire your courage and trust everything will be as you have hoped and dream.
Regards,
Alan
Hi, Richard / Suzy
This is Asako, Japanese secretary whom you chat with just before the Award dinner at Sales Conference.
How couldn't I guess that you are Suzy all of the time while I was chatting with you then! Being an
Executive Assistant, I was always there when they talked about you and your transition in the Ex-Com
meetings!!
First of all, it was lovely meeting you during the conference, Richard. I really enjoyed chatting with you :-)
Secondly, I'll be looking forward to meeting Suzy in the near future when you are back from your holiday.
It is absolutely very courageous of you. I am sure that you have gone through such a long and winding
road until you came out here. After all, life is once and all. I believe you've got to do what you want to do
and you've got to do what your life is given for!
All the best with your brand new life.
You looked beautifully elegant in the photos (nicely European, I thought). Please stop by at my desk (right in front of Tadashi's office) next time you are in Melbourne office.
I sincerely wish you all the best, and I confidently guarantee you that you'll have lots of fun, excitement and joy in your new life - one thing for sure, being a woman is so wonderful (as you probably very much know by now!). I hope you'll catch up with all of the good and beautiful things which you had been missing out in the past!
Please enjoy your holiday
