I went to the largest flea market in Texas with friends. It was early around 8:30, I like to get there before every one else and even some venders.LOL.. There was these 2 ladies who had spilled some beads on the ground that they make their jewelry with. So I stopped to help and to chat a bit. We got most of them picked up and back into the box but not sorted. Lots of grass came with the beads. As I started to walk away she said I was hoping you were a cross dresser. I got so excited. No one has ever ask me that. I told her that I was. Of course that started another conversation. And I ended up buying some jewelry from her. LOL....
It may have been the acrylic nails, mascara, shaved legs or walking like a lady that I do quite well. It may also have just been a lucky guess at trying to get me to turn around and buy something. I don't know. It was hard to control Jill from that point on for the rest of the day. It was like a great validation for Jill. I can tell you this it made my day.

I bet it made you day! There's nothing like validation that what you're doing is ok from complete strangers, especially if they look like the sort of people you'd have thought wouldn't be ok with it (not that to say that that's what these ladies looked like, but you know what I mean) :)

I would have freaked out, having someone asked straight out if I was a crossdresser. I might have gotten over it but for at lest a couple of second I would have freaked. Of course I haven't had the courage to go out yet so I will say congradulations.

Hoping - not guessing, thinking, observing but hoping.
Now that is a interesting expression on her part.

Maybe she just wanted to make a sale, but even if that was the only major intent, it sounds like it was a very pleasant encounter and made your day. What else matters, right? :) Regardless, she obviously accepted you and has an open mind. She sounds pretty cool in my book.
I enjoyed reading that - thanks for sharing. :)

Apparently she is observant and knows how to entice a customer. She would have had me for hours!!! What a great story, and a great compliment for you as well.
