I walked into an ice cream shop this afternoon to see five teenage girls chatting girl talk. Then with my back turn I hear a boys voice so I casually turn around and see the cutest little thing all girlied up talking away without a care in the world. It made me proud to see one of our little sisters being who she can be so brave and courageous. If for some reason she should see this, Kudos to you! You looked so awesome.

Good for her! Did the other girls treat her well?

Yes, they did. You could tell she was just one of the girls. She even looked nicer than a couple of her friends.

Hi Rachel,

Thanks so much for sharing this, and I completely understand why you'd want to :) I love reading real life feel-good stories like this, it warms my heart. Maybe the next generation really can make a difference in the world (?). If only we could have been like this when we were young .... (Rachel sighs and reminisces in a nostalgic pink fog) :)

Way too cute! I wish I had the courage to do that when I was in school... think I might be more normal now if I had - giggles -

So glad you posted that.

The Bay Area does tend to be a bit more open - but still, to see a completely natural casual acceptance is heart-warming.

Its PROGRESS.

You know, I really hope it was that way (her friends were simply out with a friend - who happens to like dressing up), and not a group of girls who decided to dress their friend up for fun and/or amusement. I was even girlier looking than I am now in High School, and had a group of girls that treated me like a human Barbie doll. Sure, at times, it was Heaven! Other times, I felt a bit used. They tried to make me do things, like dance with and kiss a boy, that I was a bit uncomfortable with. Here's hoping that his friends were simply letting him hang with them as just one of the girls.

Wow, I would have loved to have that opportunity as a teenager, if only just once.

I have felt that our society is changing and trending towards acceptance. When people realize that we're not going to assault their little boys and change them into "fags" like us, and don't really do anything more than contribute positively to society, it becomes a non-issue. After a while, people just don't care anymore, and then from there, they arrive at accepting. Some are slower than others, but that shouldn't slow you down.

Unfortunately I was drab. Had I been enfemme, I think I would have tried to make contact to compliment her thats how moved I was. I would probably tell her to continue to be strong as she blazes her trail.

To the level of her look and demeanor, She may have been a TG. She seemed to be in control of the situation or leader of her group.

Her voice was deep. Thats was drew my attention. I walked in and dismissed the group as early teen girlies just hanging. Then I hear a deeper soft spoken voice. I knew I hadnt seen a boy amongst them.

It sounds wonderful. I think that younger people tend toward being more accepting and even supportive of transgendered people. It's nice to have a good story. Thanks.
