I have often wondered if the people I work and interact with had ever realised I was Transgendered.
Well last Saturday I found out.
At my coming out party, I asked quite a few people (probably around 30) if they had any idea.
Virtually all said they never suspected - and even my two close GG friends had no idea. Out of the 30 there were just 2 who said "I knew"
One had noticed my carefully shaped and plucked eyebrows and thought "maybe?"
But the other person really blew me away and said this:
" Ever since I've known you (15 years) I thought there was something really feminine going on with you and just knew you were a TG.
Reasons:
Eyebrows
More sensitive and kind than any guy I've ever known, more like my female friends.
Didn't come across as gay, but you seem to send out feminine vibes
Seem to take far better care of facial skin than guys would normally do
Always get on with the girls in the group better than the guys
This lady was is the most observant person I've ever come across. All this shows that you can never be 100% in the closet, but also some people would never guess anyway.
Basically - some are very observant and some aren't

I don't think transsexuality is something that occurs to too many people, Suzy. I would bet that most people, if they think about it at all, simply assume we're gay. After I came out, a couple people told me that they had thought some of my tastes and behaviors were feminine in nature, but no one thought anything more than that.

My best friend told me that she never suspected for a moment, but that in hindsight I gave off so many signals and unconscious hints that she is shocked at herself for being so blind. She did know that I had a huge secret that was crippling me emotionally, and she was very concerned for my welfare. She told me that she was waiting for me to open up to her, but she never suspected that I was TS. My sister in law also said something similar, but with her she just thought that I was a very gentle and sensitive man, and just so completely different from my 3 older brothers that it is untrue. She also said that hindsight is brilliant. So, I suppose I agree with Sharon. We give off the signals, but even the people closest to us never suspect that we may be TS.

...that is odd...with all the physical changes happening to me...that is the one thing that raises the most eyebrows...the eyebrows...
Sorry could not resist...:D...but that is what people have told me was one of the biggest clues...especially GGs...apparently it is not a gay male trait but more a feminine trait...:heehee:

I keep slipping more and more. I guess I just don't care anymore. I'm waiting for them to put 2 and 2 together. I think 2 or 3 girls I work with already have. A year and a half ago I got my ears pierced. Last October I started getting my brows plucked regularly. A few months before that was my last haircut. Last month I came in with my arms shaved. Nobody has said anything about that though. Now I am wondering how many people suspect.

I cannot agree more, Suzy... It is also my observation that there are as many reactions in people when being confronted with us as there are people... Everyone has his/her own perception and acts accordingly...
We all give away clues about our true gender, whether we are aware of it or not... It all depends on the way we are "hardwired" into our true gender...
There is an interesting article written about this hardwired issue and the way we express it all differently, by Dr. Carl W. Bushong, Ph.D. LMFT and I thought I'd link it here, although it is slightly off topic:

Just read that link, Dita. Absolutely fascinating. I especially found the part about making the male construct personality at age 8 or 9 interesting, as this sent chills up my spine. I actually remember making decisions at 9 to act more like a boy to fit in, so the others would 'think me weird'. The transsexual part could've had my name inserted as a typical example.

Very fascinating Suzy! You have tremendous strength to even ask such a question and the responses kind of give a "fly on the wall" feeling, insight into something which you'd never know the answers to if you didn't have the guts to ask.
That said, I'm toast when it comes to the list above, I guess everyone knows "something" is up with me!!!

Interesting-eyebrows?I keep my haircut real short.I go to a local salon for my cut and they just hired a new operator. As she was finishing up-takes about 10 min.to buzz me,she said would I like her to trim my eyebrows?I said yes and she did.She also said I should pluck them and to do it from the bottom to get the look I want.???I don't know??No one has ever done this before,is it because I'm am exhibiting a more femme nature now?I am working hard to develop my feminine side and I wonder if it shows.

Its funny how much I did and no one noticed me I think I was trying to get friends to see it. Things I did I shaved off my mustache I always had, removed body hair, 4 ear piercing, eyebrow’s, then nails, hair colored and down to the middle of my back then the big one I did ffs surgery. And the funny thing I am getting noticed as female when I did go out in male mode. But none of my friends said anything to me. At that time I had lost allot of weight. I heard one friend say to another I see rich but it does not look like him anymore. Now that I am out they see all the clues and have been able to put it together I did have some say later one they where thinking I was gay but did not want to ask. The ones that did not know me where taking me for female but the ones close really did not noticed and if so said nothing.
