Relief at being caught.....

To those who have been caught dressing, lookung back, is it a relief things are no longer a secret?

I really only got caught by my mother (http://www.mycdlife.com/2009/04/getting-busted-and-learning-to-hate-myself) when I was 12. It was not a relief, but instead the beginning of my dark years of depression and long bout of self-hatred.

My wife kind of caught me once (trying on one of her dresses) before I came out to her, but since she asked me to cd for her from time to time, it really didn't out me, so to say. She saw it as a playful thing.

It was a relief when I finally came out to my wife (and bigger relief that she was accepting), but never experienced relief from being caught - only hardship.

Rember as a teenager carelessly leaving a leotard and panty hose with my school books, and my parents found them. I just blustered away, but they knew..........!

Now, it's no problem. My wife actually got me into dressing in the sexiest clothes, and regularly shops for me. I am so lucky.

I got caught a couple of times as a teenager, the first time when I was around 13 or so. Actually I didn't get caught as such, not dressed, but my "stash" was found. Relief? No, not at all. Guilt, worry, concerns about my parents that I was gay or rather, queer, since the term gay hadn't been preempted at that time, my brother outing me to other guys and girls we knew, getting bullied, picked on, whispered about. No, not much like how I spell relief.

Did it make me stop? Have mercy, no way, and so I got caught again and again. But things are better now and it made me a good hider of stuff.

absolutely, I had dreaded the day I got found out and then when I realised my wife knew and she confronted me about it, I was so calm and measured it was untrue, I never felt any of the anxiety I thought I would and I was happy that she knew so we could discuss it, but it has never been mentioned since!!!!!

But because she now knows, it does mean I don't have to be quite so careful and one day she will discuss it further I am sure

She took me to a Psychologist, He said there is NO Cure, guy was way ahead of his time.
Not much said after that, since I was the All American boy,

As a fifty-plus year old I thought I would avoid that by telling my wife.

Well, this recently happened to me, so maybe my story helps:

Three weeks ago I was travelling in another city and had some time on my hands at night. As it happens, there is a storefront for a well-known CD store site, so I decided to buy my first breastforms by going down there in-person.

I ended up doing a bit of a shopping spree, and needed to put about $300 on my Visa card. I asked how the billing would come out, and the person told me that it would not be recognizable, like the website.

Well, you know where I'm going with this: three days after I return, my wife says, "Um, there's a charge for $300 from 'XYZ'...do you know anything about that?".

As I'm going out the door to work, my reply was, "I'll check into that later.". Driving in the car after about 10 minutes, I tossed the idea of making up some plausible denial, and decided to tell her about my need to cross-dress and explore my feminine persona.

At that moment, I felt truly free...it was unexpected. I thought I'd spend the whole day living in fear of that moment when you start the conversation. But strangely, I felt better than I had in many years.

I got home, and after putting our child to bed, I said, "I know what the charges on my Visa are. They are from XYZ, which is where I bought some women's clothing for myself to wear. I am a crossdresser." And that was the beginning of a two-hour initial discussion that has continued for the last couple of weeks.

The results? I feel fantastic, and my wife is gradually coping with the shock. I feel a new devotion to her as someone who deserves all the support I can give her through this difficult period. My job is to look out for her, and I know if I do that, she'll look out for me. She gave me some shaving/waxing tips, suggested I keep the guest bedroom locked if I "need to use it", and I see three new Venus razors on the bathroom counter, and I see this as a good sign. I can't ask for much more than that after 17 years of marriage.

This process has reminded me how wonderful she is and some of the reasons I married her in the first place. The best part of this has been the renewal of my devotion to her, and that I can be completely honest with her, which is the only way to earn trust.

My first true "caught" was by my sister-in-law. Not a full dressed one but....She was over for lunch one summer day a few years ago, I was guy mode wearing a t-shirt , jean shorts and little white ankle socks. During the meal she dropped something and bent down to pick it up. She sat up looked right into my eyes and asked " Are your toenails painted?" It seems the socks were just a little thinner than I realised! We told her about my Crossdressing and she insisted on seeing the full thing soon. Getting caught when I was 12 was a terrifying experience. I never thought I would be caught, nor did I ever want to be.

I got caught again by my mom a couple of years later, and I am pretty sure my friends saw me though the window once.

I was horrified.

A few months ago my girlfriend, fiancee and mistress caught me.

At first, I was terrified like I have always been.

Last night, while we were making love, she told me that she really wanted to explore this dark secret more...

She's been hinting at it...but I know she meant it.

She was as wet as she has ever been...

So I was terrified and scared, but now I am encouraged and optimistic that we can go through these dark places together...

This is how I felt as well.
When my wife asked why I had breast forms on the bed (forgot to put them away) I told her that I was a cross dresser. and that was that. No further discussion. Fast forward a month or so to when she came home early from work I was in the bathroom in bra and half slip taking off some makeup. When I had changed a said I was sorry that she had to see me that way and her only comment was that she will have to phone ahead in future and this she has done. I told her that I would appreciate letting her see me fully dressed as I felt that what she had seen was the stereo-typical comic version. She was not interested and refused to discuss it any further.
I too feel relief that it is not a secret and I don't have to be paranoid about anything being seen, my clothes are in my closet where they would be reveled by the most cursory search (one of my skirts is hanging on its original hanger with the clips) I have photos in a folder in "my documents" and I hope she will find them and see that I am serious about dressing.
Now she has retired and my dressing opportunities are few and far between but I am still hoping she will get curious and talk one day.

Absolutely! It explained a lot of things to my wife, and she was grateful that I wasn't having an affair with another woman. I am very regretful for not telling her a long long time ago, especially when I dressed up back in the 70's & thought she caught on then. Also, before we started going out we were at a Halloween party & I was dressed as Glenda the good witch from the Wizard of Oz & she was a "man detective". Perhaps we should've both caught on then! lol. But I am very regretful for not telling her a long, long, time ago & I'm relieved & happy she knows now.

I got caught by my uncle who came upstairs to say hello . I was home alone, 13 years old and completely dressed. I was literally cornered in the living room and could do nothing but face the wall and mumble something. He stood there in silence behind me and turned and left. I am traumatized to this day some 50 yewars later over that incident and it pains me to write it now. I was embarrased, humilitaed and ashamed. Things that later carried over into adult CD life. I suffer from PTSD over this and the thought of that moment literally makes me shudder and yell out loud . I think I will need some kind of counseling or hypnosis to clear it from my head forever.
No advice from anyone please. I just needed to talk and get this post out on this thread

I was caught pretty much red handed when I was about 14, and again about that time my little stash was discovered. Both times by my mother. I didn't have a lot to say, and she didn't know what to say or do about it either.

I was too young to understand what this was all about, I only knew that I was the only boy in the history of the world to feel like this.

I have never been caught! I started collecting when I was young, maybe around 11. I hid my trophies in various places around my room, in my closet, in shoeboxes under my bed, under the mattress, in lockboxes...

But then when I was finally moving out of mom and dad's house at the age of 25, mom asks, "Did you get all that underwear you had under your mattress?"

I wasn't caught by my wife. We were watching "Springer" and there was a man on there in a pair of red panties. My wife jokenly said she wondered what I would look like in a pair of red panties. I quickly decided to find out if she could handle being married to a Crossedresser and went and put on a pair of red panties. She never got upset and I have been happily dressing ever since with her approval. She has taught many things.
