I have just been to see my GP, since I had not heard from the psychiatirst. I decided to go dressed as I have booked all day of work and will be dressed all day.
On arrival at the surgery I spoke to the receptionist to confirm I was here for my appointment. I have not yet tried to train my voice to be more feminine but I tried to speak a little heigher than normal. I said I had an appointment to see the doctor at 9:10 and she looked on the screen and asked me to confirm the time, then she looked again and looked up and said " it's Mrs ?... ". After looking a bit puzzled for a few seconds, the penny dropped and she found my name and asked mw to sit in the waiting room. This is the first time I have been mistaken for a woman and although it was only briefly, I am very happy that it seems I am making progress. I didn't see anyone staring at me or doing a double take while in the waitng room either.
My GP told me that the psychiatrist had written to him to say there was no need to see me and I can go forward to the next stage which is a referral to Charing Cross. I will have to wait a few months before I get an appointment but in the meantime I can sort out my laser treatment and concentrate on my studies.
This is a great start to the day. :D :cheer: :c9:
