Haven't dressed in a while, but I've lost a lot of extra weight recently and finally got rid of the facial hair so I decided to start dressing again. Thing is, I never really stopped being a crossdresser, just stopped dressing for a while. Did OK on my makeup (surprised how much I remembered :battingeyelashes:) although not totally happy with the lips. I'll go to a more earthy-red in the future instead of the wine color I'm wearing now (a color called "red brick" used to be my favorite).
Sitting here, I'd forgotten how comfortable it feels to be dressed as Josie. Need a little more practice to "knock the rust off", but hopefully by this fall, Josie will be going out again. Thinking I'll probably join Renaissance again.
good to be back :)

Good for you, Josie. It's been a long while since I had to take any sort of very long break, but I still remember the feeling of getting to be myself again after not being able to for an extended period of time. Welcome back to the truth. And, girl, good for you on the weight loss thing, isn't a great to be able to get into a smaller size? I'm working on my weight...again...still...forever.<lol>
Hugs...Joni Mari

Hi,
It seems from all that I have read in various forums and from my own experience the drive to dress NEVER goes away.

I usually go drab during the summer, just like the way I look with the mustache and goatee, Lemmy sideburns are cool too. Come October, I'll shave it all and be back out on the scene. I wonder if any others of us are comfortable with both aspects of who they are? I am still a CD'er, I just tend to do it during the cold months.
Peace

I'm comfortable with both and I have to spend a fair amount of time en drab, but I love dressing en femme, so I don't let my facial hair grow in any way that would prevent me from being girly.

I know how you feel. I spent the last 6 months doing the army reserve thing. I thought I was going to go crazy without being able to be Jen. I am back home now and I have a lot of catching up to do and I can't wait.

Thanks all,
Actually, as far as the weight loss goes, it's more like I'm getting back to the weight I was at was at when I dressed. So, all my "foundations" fit again ;)
I usually don't dress in the summer either, mostly because all those foundations (padded hips, waist cincher, etc) can be uncomfortable when it's really hot. Plus I think it's easier to find fall fashions that work for Josie.
I like the idea of going with the goatee in the summer and losing it in the fall though, I might just do that next summer (although definitely coloring the gray out of the goatee from now on).
For now though, I'll use this summer to re-learn how to create Josie's look.

"knock the rust off"
Hehe, good one. I know how you feel, when I dress after a long hiatus it just feels so right, and I instantly remember everything that I love about it. I only wish that I could dress more often, at least enough to suit my basic needs. Oh, and congratulations on losing weight, it must feel spectacular :)
