I've read many post's that when on Hormones after a short while that you become more sensitive and emotional. This morning I was watching 'Superman Return's'. I've watched this movie many times before without crying, but this time at emotional scene's in the movie I just could not hold back the crying and the tears. I cried like a baby.
Does this remain a part of ones new self or do the tears become a little more controllable in time..? Kim :battingeyelashes:
they come any day or any hour or sometimes seconds. get use to it sis. becoming more sensitive and emotional comes with the territory
better invest in more tissues around the house in your car and in your purse. they are uncontrollable just go with the flow "sorry bout the pun"
i cry at commercials for god sakes
oh welcome to woman hood

I am not on hormones and do not intend to go on them. However, a friend of mine is and she has found that her temper has also sharpened, much to my surprise. Has anyone ever experienced that too?

Not for me, so it was just the opposite, I'm much calmer now...
But when my Ex wife(GG) was on them, she had violent temper tantrums because of them, she & I couldn't wait for her to get off them...

Opposite for me too. I was always very angry, now I am very much at ease with myself and am calm under pressure. However, my emotions are now just bubbling underneath the surface, and it does not take much to bring them out.

Eventhough I cry more and I'm more sensitive emotionally, I am a much better person. Being a man lacked something for me, being me now I feel right. I look forward to my new me.. :battingeyelashes:

I have always cried during movies. It's just that girl brain I have.

There are two things at work. Lowering of Testosterone and increase in Estrogen. I know that lowering T can bring a very calm feeling. Before I started lowering mine I was fairly easily angered and impatient, driving was a nightmare and I was a borderline road rager (which actually made me concerned for my own safety). After lowering my T I have found I am completely relaxed and patient. Driving now causes no anger to me whatsoever. I'm not finding an increase in crying, however.
Not sure what estrogen will do, though. But that is likely going to cause what you experienced.

Hiya Kim!! I've said before the almost immediate of feeling of taking estrogen was wonderful...then the crying...which was very disconcerting to me actually...i am still getting used to it but over time it lessened for me...
I also couldnt figure this out at first but after a number of months of HRT I started to wake up all sweaty and gross...i don't know if this was hot flashes or what but it never happened to me (except when i had the flu) before..
I have never experienced what felt like a hot flash during the day though..

Oh my yes! I think I started with my first pill!
As the others have said, welcome to woman-hood! I weep over pretty flowers, cute little girls in frilly dresses, little boys with dirty faces, kittens, puppies, ...you name it and I've shed tears over it! I even cry when the kids at school sing a song I've taught them!
I guess you just have to accept the fact that you are more emotional now. It really is great not being a testosterone factory anymore!

Hi Diane
Every time I see your photo, I smile. you look so much like what I want to achieve. A natural looking female, without any fake make up or glamor. Just plain femme. Thanks for showing that to me.

Except when you get yelled at for putting bras in the clothes dryer..
OR...when you cannot figure out why the brakes on the car do not work..
OR ...when your boss ask you to get to work on time..
OR ...when you run over squirells ..
OR...when there is no mayo for your burger..
OR...when you break a nail and cannot find the broken piece...
Ok ...i cried like a pissey baby bout Michael Jackson...But yall got to keep that a secret..

Thank you for your kind words! That's enough to make me tear up! I guess it's just the luck of the draw! Mom & Dad both had round faces and big smiles, so I have been blessed with them.
The picture was taken on the shore in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in Maine. I still spend time there every summer. It's such a lovely place!
Diane.

Yes I have had this ... I was watching a DVD at home the other day Jock of the bushveld. It is a true story about a dog set in the northeastern Transvaal around 1889 or so. Jock gets shot by accident while guarding chickens from stray dogs, he was in the coop and the owner saw a shodow and fired a shot killing Jock, but he had already killed the theif. The tears just ran. Even now thinking about this story the eyes get moist. Jock was the dog of Sir Percy Fritzpatric.
Ther is a memorial for Jock in the Kruger National Park.
