VW Beetle. I rarely ever see a man driving one.
Wrong #1.....there is a restaurant owner in my town that drives a yellow one.
Wrong #2.....I had a friend that had one, he is a vice president for his dad's company...I think he bought it to please his wife. I might agree that there would be few males that would actually put a flower in that dashboard vase of the VW beetle.

Furthermore, I keep seeing lots of women who *own* and ride their own Harleys. OK, maybe there aren't a lot of female Heritage Softtail owners, but they are harleys nonetheless. Seeing girls hit the gears on a rumbling Harley Davidson while standing at a traffic light never ceases to amaze me.

My cousin, she owns a Chevy Silverado pickup.

My point being, is that maybe there are sterotypes, but how accurate the stereotypes are, is often incorrect.

Stereotypes are sometimes incorrect, I'll agree with that. The stereotype that all crossdressers are homosexual is just plain wrong.

It's an observation that I rarely ever see a man in a VW Beetle. It's like a 25:1 woman:man ratio. I drive a Ford Superduty (big ass pickup truck dripping with testosterone). I rarely ever see a woman drive one. Another observation.

Harleys? How many women do you see riding one? I see a few, mostly with their husbands. It's a male dominated vehicle just like my Superduty.

There are vehicles that appeal to women, and vehicles that appeal to men. The auto manufacturers realize this and market their vehicles accordingly.

I would like to have a girly vehicle. Someone mentioned a Jeep Liberty. They are cute vehicles. I guess that's why they are called "cute utes". With my job it's not possible. I need the manly Superduty. :)

In the 'Rest of the world' tm, the Miata is called the MX-5.

What do you mean, it's a girly car, I've got one of those. Oh, wait.....

Hehehehe, I've never driven it dressed, with the lid down my 'hair' would be at some risk of blowing away.

Huge fun to drive though.:)

I think I see the vast majority of VW Beetles being driven by females, although I also notice a lot of women driving SUV's and trucks these days, so the stereotypes don't necessarily fit. :2c:

I vote for the new Ford Ka. It's so comfortable, easy to drive and with enough room for all our shopping bags.

I'm quite sure it has been designed thinking of women.

when I think of frills and lace and pretty feminine girl I picture a VW cabrolet convertable ...Now that's a girls car totally..

I observe plenty of women in SUVs and pickups as well as BMW convertibles and Mazdas but the VW Cabriolet still rests in my mind as a female-only car (maybe it is the VW Eos now.) When you add these wheels and a female colour you have a fair candidate:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3052219

Intertwined certainly has a winner...

A new Beetle convertable, a Mini convertable or a Miata.

I agree, particularly with the VW Beetle, with or without the flip top. And wait a minute, I used to drive a Miata. Wish I still had it.

A GG at work says all Audis are girly.

Agree here too, I think the little Audi TT is particularly feminine.

Mustang. no doubt whatsoever.
Hi Laura

I don't know if the Mustang would be the "most" girly, but it certainly should be right up there! I drive a 2007 Mustang myself and have noted roughly a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio of women to men driving them! :D The funny thing is I didn't realize this when I bought the car, I just bought it cause I loved it and it appealed to me. It has been an added bonus though to find that so many women seem to love them too! :heehee:

I see so many women driving so many different cars, it's hard to tell if there is any one more girly than another. But here's a little tidbit of useless information. In the mid 1950s Dodge built a model aimed exclusively toward female buyers. It was called La Femme, and was built as a full size Dodge Royal Lancer with pastel colors inside and out and feminine touches like a matching rain cape, hat, and umbrella. I don't recall seeing very many on the road with women owners, but my next door neighbors had one in two tone pink, and it was the husband who drove it. Go figure

That's what my wife says ... it even has a little flower in a vase on the dashboard

I think I'd like to have a little red Mazda Miata (MX5) I think it would go well with me in one of my black and white dresses :D

Yes I have noticed that trend as well. Of course mine is the V-6 variety, I am not planning on racing anyone, and prefer the better gas mileage to the extra power in the GT. I just want to look good driving down the road in my sexy car! :battingeyelashes:

Sorry - I have to go with the newer VW Beetle.

Even VW realized it was a "chick car" and that was when they came out with the turbo version to try and get guys to but it. Still doesn't happen, :lol2:

The old VW rabbits were every bodies car, but it seemed the convertible slid over to the girlie side. Now n days any of them you still see on the road are mostly still driven by women.

Didn't stop me from owning one though, LOL, top down and 40mpg, I could care less.

I would say the Miata,VW Beetle and Ford Ka(built by Ford Of England) are the girly cars I can think of. The Jeep Liberty can be and one guy manager at my work drives a Liberty.

Myself, This girl loves big cars. I drove a 96 Crown Victoria and a 08 Explorer Eddie Bauer with a V8 plus in my garage I have a 79 Malibu.

Ok i have had an attraction to girly cars! The last 3 cars i have owned have all been stereotypical female cars.

First was my Smart four two, as much as i tried to make it mean by customising it with polished wheels and brabus bodykit it still looks cute and girly... awww.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/deelite/summerpix2002c_1.jpg

Then i bought another smart, but this is the sports roadster version, again its soo girly.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/deelite/DSC00160.jpg

Then finally i bought a VW beetle, this is the UK V5 sport version, looks like the turbo S model you get in the U.S., Sadly i had to let this go too, for now i have a VW polo, but i soo want another V5.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/deelite/DSC00675.jpg

I also thinking back i had many moons back a Suzuki Vitara 4x4, mine was all white with a pink graphic down the side, how girly is that!!

So yes i have had a few girly cars!

Dee.
