I recently read an interesting article about "Bio-identical hormones" does anyone have any experience with this approach. As I understand it, they are hormones derived strictly from plant chemicals and have no animal estrogen. The theory which is being backed by a lot of doctors, builds on the promise that non animal medicine is more likely to be safe for the human body where as an estrogen substance extracted from purely chemical or animal source is more likely to cause Cancer etc. I am not a doctor and I don't know how common this Bio-identical approach is used in Trans Gender cases. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it since I am about to embark on HRT myself.
Kind regards

I know premarin is supposed to be bad for you (the stuff that is extracted from horse urine). The molecule is different from the one we humans produce, so it would make perfect sense that it isn't to good for us.

As far as I know, estrogen from animals is barely used anymore.
