Greetings to all -
Sorry that I haven't been online for quite a while, but...
In April our youngest daughter (agem 30) moved in with us. she's pregnant and wanted to be with her mom and dad when she has the baby. Her boyfriend (age 55!!) won't marry her but says he loves her and etc... Bunch of crap if you ask me, hope he runs off!
On the 3rd of July I had some bad chest pain so I went to the ER and they said there was nothing wrong with me!! 3 days later I was rushed to the ER by ambulance for more chest pain - this time I got a different Dr. and he did some tests and 2 hours later I wass being life-flighted out to the University of Utah hospital is Salt Lake city. There, they got me stabilized and then the next day my regular cardiologist did an angioplasty and repleced 3 clogged stents!! I ended up being out there for 7 days. Then 2 days after I got home, I went to my regular Dr. for a followup and my blood pressure was 80/40, pule 127!!! put me right in the hospital and the labs came back and my potassium was 6.7! Normal is between 3 & 5. Dr. said anything over 6 causes funerals - guess I was really lucky!!
Anyway, I'm feeling better - health wise. Changed some meds and stopped a few others. Worst part was that part of the high potassium was due to the spironolactone! I was taking 3oo mg a day and now they will only let me take 50 mg a day! Dr. hopes I can increase the dosage soon, but will need to check my blood work more often. BUMMER - the "T" is starting to rear it's ugly head again!!!!
That's where I'm at now, I hope everyone is having a better summer than I did :)
