Today is the big day for me. At 2pm today I will be sitting down for my first therapy sessions and wow my nerves are right out there.:) Pam and I are meeting for lunch and since she got great news at her work yesterday I'm shure we should have a great meeting.:daydreaming:

As you all have said that one should sit down with HR at work and prepare them for our up and coming transition, well I did and the response was so wonderful. I also had conversations with friends at work who know and they all are thinking of me today.

Last night I had a parade to march in and when I got home my sister-in-law had left a message on the phone wishing me the best from the girls, my late wifes sisters, and in a moment I will be calling them. They were one of the first to know I was CDing and since have been so sweet with their love and support. Anyway I am babbling and should start to get ready for the two hour drive to the Twin Cities and lunch before I go over to the University.

Thank you all for your shoulder and kindness plus a special thanks to Susan and Pam. You are all so wonderful. :hugs::love::daydreaming:

First thing is a special thank you to Pamela for her help in finding a therapist as well as being so kind. Today was my first session and I was pretty nervous but Pam suggested I come up early and have lunch together before hand and this way we could get a chance to talk. I enjoyed the conversation and friendship that was shown, it really lightened the load. After we had our lunch Pam needed to get back to work and I needed to get to my appointment.

The staff and Dr. at the Univ. of MN was so kind and helpful. The first session was more background work but the Dr. made me feel so comfortable that the hour went be so fast. So in two weeks I will be back for the second and Pam has envited me to sit in on their book club after my session.

When it was time to head for home I stopped by and visited my nephew and he was glad to hear the session went well and it was a chance for him to meet Teri for the first time in the flesh so to speak. Dan works as a hair stylist at a upscale salon and is very good at what he loves, so in parting he said if I needed anything to call him. Let's see ......... what do I need for the make up kit? lol When I told Pam she said "you did get that in writing?"

Anyway after a long day, 5am-12am, I am dressed for bed and I feel more relaxed knowing the day was so wonderful. Soooooooo to all my sisters out there and especially Pam for her help and friendship and to Susan who has been such a special friend for over a year, thank you all and have a wonderful night. Congratulations Teri, I'm happy it went well for you. I had my first visit with my therapist last week and it was definitely a nerve wracking experience. Right up to the point of walking into her office anyway. After that it was very comforting to be able to sit and talk about anything and everything.

It was great to finally get to meet you, and you looked really great.
I'm not sure if I just missed it but did you notice the lack of attention or comments these 2 tall women got during lunch? Especially from that table of teen aged boys near us.

I'm so very happy it went well for you and I'm looking forward to seeing you again in a couple of weeks.

Girls, after reading your responses the tears started to flow, WTH I haven't even started HRT yet. No seriously it never took much to get me going. The sleep lost and the nerves settled and the memory of a wonderful friend helping me in the first step, wow. I will have to talk to Dan about some products, not really but if he should see something I could use or should, wellllllll okay.

Pam I never give the young boys any attention and as they say if you act normal and discreet there will be no problems. The thing I did notice is the young woman who asked if we were done with the table, she had two children that she was trying to get seated and she smiled so sweetly at the two of us when she asked. Thanks Pam for your help and yes we should get together if possible. BTW I ordered the book for the book club.

I want to thank everybody reading this for their support of me and allthe girls who ar here. As the say united we stand, and to the mods you do a fantastic job and your dedication is unbelievable.

Today came with the convocation event that marks the beginning of a new year at the university and with that the same speach buy the president. Anyway the preparations were all made and the VPs, Dept chairs and such filtered into the arena and who did I run into but the HR director. Now I can see she wants to talk to me as we both are taking care of our posts and then there is a break.

She comes over and making sure no one can overhear says to me the pictures I sent to her had her confussed but after she took the time to study them along with my employee file photo she was able to see it was me. Her words "you look very nice".

Wow, I have been walking in a pink cloud the rest of the day.
