Yep, I broke it

Was walking into the bathroom last night....Somehow I managed to hit My foot into the side of the doorframe and snapped My toe....I knew instantly that I had broken it because it was sticking out to the side...Doctor said it was a clean, complete break....Now I'm on Vicodin, toe is taped to the next one, have to lean on crutches to walk, and can't wear shoes....How stupid is that??? :doh:

Awwww, thanks, sweetie.....:hugs: And, yeah, it actually IS as painful as it sounds....LOL And the top and side of My foot are turning blue with bruising....I feel like an idiot, still trying to figure out how I even did that....I had knee surgery in January and, believe it or not, this actually hurts worse than that did....:eek:

Learned from my parents that it's not even worth the trip to a doctor for a broken toe. There are dumber injuries. Got a nifty scar across the back of my right hand because I lost my temper and punched a concrete slab. I forget I'm no fighter, so I threw the punch wrong. LOL.....Funny you should bring that up (the whining) because I actually have not been whining....until today....For whatever reason, it started hurting like hell this morning, so I looked at it....and realized that the majority of the top and side of My foot is really bruised....and the toe itself is, too...and really swollen...The bruising extends from the side of My foot all the way almost to the big toe in one direction and halfway up My foot toward My ankle in the other direction....what the hell?? It's a freaking toe....granted, he said it was a complete break, which is apparently a bad one (??), but geez....it's still a toe.....I'm getting pissed now. Okay, update....I keep re-breaking the toe....Problem with a complete break like this is....they can only tape it, but tape doesn't really hold it....so, you can be doing something like going up or down steps, etc., and if you hit it just right, it snaps again, you get a sharp burning pain....it swells and bruises again....I assume it will eventually heal....The flu thing, still have a residual cough, but it's a lot better....Thank you so much for asking, Mom....Yet another reason I love you.....:love: And, I will be perfectly fine when the time for the surgery comes, broken toe or not....I don't really care one way or the other about that....It's only pain...and pain is relative. :hugs:
