I want to know...I am going to Kelowna with my parents & brothers family, so I do not want to wear something thats obviously feminine.......stealth is the word..... here is a pic of the kind I was thinking of buying.......

I don't see anything wrong with it. Blue is a good color. You might get some looks though if you went with pink!

YES, I realize this.....looks are not what I want........I thought staying away from pink was obvious......

and NO, there is nothign wrong with them......but there is nothing wrong with wearing a skirt, but that would cause family turmoil that I do not want nor wish to inflict.....so thats why I am asking for honest opinions......to prevent me from making a mistake.....

after all, its not like I can ask my friends or the salesgirl ( she would be baised in favour of making a sale)

When you say "stealth"......? You're joking right? But if that's an acceptable fashion in itself then I suppose, you're just "on holiday" being mildly eccentric.

A bit like a Hawian shirt.

no I am not joking?

what do you mean joking?

stealth, you know, unisex.....

now since BOTH mens & womens board shorts are floral, excluding pink or any other fem color like that, what distinguishes mens from womens?

Well if YOU don't know.... I don't think anyone else will. So you could wear whatever you fancy if everyone around you is wearing something equally floral and jazzy. Who'd know?

My honest opinion is that they're kinda feminine. Men's surfer shorts like those have broader legs - those are thin and feminine looking. I also bet the butt is cut different. If you want true stealth but pretty - try shopping in the clearance section of K-mart or something. I picked up a pair of light, pretty green ones - meant for guys - but they were so feminine-printed that they didn't sell well.

That way - they're cut in a way I can "get away with" but I still feel a little pretty.

My $.02

Yes, I agree with Stephanie on the cut, the legs are too fitting. Men's board shorts are much baggier. And usually women's are more low rise. However, I like those, and really thought mens when I first saw them ... then the woman's tummy and waistband brought out a more feminine appearance. But, I think they would be just fine for you to wear. But only you know your family and the type of people that go wherever you are going.

Another difference is where they sit around the waist. But if you like them, wear them. Leg length is a little long it seems.
