Today I decided to get some stuff done in the garage in preparation for insulating and sheetrocking. Being I'm going to start my RLT this next month I figured that doing this work enfemme would be a nice start. So dressed for work and having my makeup on and wig, bra and forms, and nails polished the night before I proceeded to get to work. :daydreaming: You know how you get the feeling something changed or someone is watching? Well H***** had pulled the service door shut when I had my back to him, so I went to open it and it was "stuck". LOL He had it tight in his hands so when I gave it a tug he let go and there he was. :tongueout He had not seen me enfemme but later I found out my family had told him awhile back.

Well we had a wonderful couple hours talking over coffee/soda and he was so accepting. :) Anyway the moment was something I had thought would go a different way but the outcome was great. So now the time is near for the brothers and sister; I have ordered the book "True Selves" for each of them and will give them the book when we sit for the diclosure. I just thought it was a special moment you would enjoy hearing. Have a great day, mine is.

Huggs Teri

Thanks for sharing Teri. Sounds like you have a good start on coming out to the family. Your father-in-law sounds like a good person. I hope everything continues along very smoothly. :)

Thanks for sharing Teri. My wife has told her Mother and two Sisters and so far they're all very supportive, but the men in the family still don't know and I'm not as optimist they're be as supportive.
Plus me being the little chicken s*** I haven't come out to any of my family yet.

Hi Robyn, I did the same thing in coming out to the women in the family first as they seem to be more accepting/curious. But the surprising reaction from the men made me change that perception a little more. My father-in-law and sister-in-law's husband have been great about it and my daughter's SOs have been good with it but rather not see me dressed as yet. So to with my brother but who knows after awhile they may be okay with it also. My brother's wife was really receptive and bombarded me with questions and since started to surf the forum.

Every family is different as is each individual so don't give the blanket assumption that the guys won't accept it or honor your choices. Have fun girl and hope your wekk goes well.

Terri,

That is wonderful!!

You know the old saying "the rooster may rule the roost, but the hen rules the rooster".

I hope everything continues as well as this has so far.

Veronica, that is so true. So if there are two hens in the house who rules who. LOL

Great news. Glad things went to so well between you and your father-in-law.

As for who rules the roost in your house, I have two suggestions,

A) You can flip a coin, or

B) Be fair about it and take turns. One week you, next week your SO

:)

Of late it seems we are getting some very pleasant stories about families supporting gender changes. I think karma is on out side at the moment, let's hope it stays that way! !

Congrats on your successful, if accidential, talk with your FIL. I am so happy for you :hugs:
