I just applied for a part-time seasonal job as a witch at a shopping outlet. Question is, if I get the position, 10 to 15 hours per week... What kinda witch do I want to be? Think I'd like to be some sort of sexy witch, Elvira or something. Maybe Samantha, yeah that would be cool.
Wow, what if people I know walked into the store that me as the witch is supposed to be promoting!?!?
If they call me back, I'm taking the job. Scared, but excited, too.

I'd go for a scarry mean witch... With warts... Which would help with your issue of being recoginized... Even if you were, it wouldn't look like you were a crossdresser... Being a sexy witch would pose more of an issue, in my humble opinion.

I have never been called a witch, but I have on occasion been called a word that rhymes with witch, but starts with a 'b'. Didn't bother me in the least :heehee:

black dress, 5" black pointy toe FM pumps. Try 15 hrs a week in those and report back.

I would imagine it depends on what kind of witch the outlet is looking for. No matter what, it sounds like a great little job!

it just HAS to be Elvira.
With your looks, you could pull it off.

There is the heel thing, however. They can be brutal after just a short time.
Flats would never complete the Elvira look though.
You have a real dilemma.
I wish it were my dilemma.

I would say it depends on what the store wants in a witch, they probably have a classic Halloween witch in mind. and if someone you know sees you and recognizes you, you can tell them you did it for the extra money. After all a jobs a job!

Well... I just talked to the hiring manager. She said I'd have to send a picture to be considered. But, then she said it might be 'entertaining' to have a male 'posing' as a female witch. I'm going to the Goodwill first thing in the morning to find a black witch dress, hopefully a hat, too. My favorite shoes are very comfortable to me, 3" heels. I guess I'm kinda used to them so I don't think that will be a problem.

Be careful. Those broomsticks can give you splinters in some very tender places. I once met a transsexual witch (as in follower of Wica).

I am a witch this year as well and had to have two outfits to cover sexy as well as scary and something inbetween for my daughters school party. Sexy for a party this weekend,traditional for Halloween early evening,sexy for later that night,and mild for the schoolday prior! And,if I have time,I want to be paid to haunt a few businesses as well!

If you do a good job as a witch you may be invited to be Mrs Clause for Christmas then have a stint as the Easter (Playboy) Bunny. You may be able to turn a temp Halloween job into a career.

Propose that you change your appearance on alternate weeks, for example. An old hag witch one week, and a pretty witch another week. That way your appearance won't become stale to the patrons.

Ok, I was originally going to say, What a great job! Well, What a great job! I hope you get it!

Now onto the more heated debated aspect of the witch.

I'M PRETTY SURE that the witch being represented in the scary witch is supposed to be a model of the witch from a lot of shakespeare's plays where the witches are corrupt and looking to torment kings and such. Example: Macbeth!

I'm tired of being lumped into categories around the world just because of where I'm living. We're supposed to all get along here.

My vote is for Elvira. Use some sense with the shoes. If you go for the heels, take a more comfortable backup pair.
How much did you have to pay them to get this job? Nice gig.
