I had my first "official" girls night out last night. Two GG colleagues (and friends) from work who are aware that I'm due to start my RLE on January 1st had suggested a girls night out (there was a third who was due to come - but she had to go down south for a funeral). We went to an Indian restaurant a few miles away - highly recommended if you're ever in the Derby/Burton area of the UK, a bit pricey but the food was to die for.
Apart from my friends difficulty in remembering to use my female name - well they have been used to calling me by my male name for so long - it was a great evening - although my voice did give me away, and one of the waiters called me sir :Angry3: , but that aside it was a night when my friends finally met the real me and they seemed to have just as good a night as I did.
And we have decided to try for a monthly girls dinner club.
